If I were a craigslister

Post by trivial »

how would I get around your natural reluctance to ship, when all that was at stake was <$10 before shipping costs? THEIR WAERND to deal locally, but I'm willing to risk a li'l moneys before they ship.

How much personalized personality© should I show so they won't think I'm scamming lots of folks at once? Without seeming weird? That part might just be out of reach.

Dead tired of ebay,

Aww c'mon. I know there are other auction sites, but the selection, man, the selection. We better work the machine. Sashay, 'chanté.

Was this like asking for dating advice? I'll buy their damn dinner, but gas should be split right now. You know what an ebay rep is really worth, right?

This would be infinitely worse, but fortunately it isn't IRC.

1.) All mails to sale-x@craigslist.org have explicit, capitalized warnings to transact only with local customers

2.) Gas is expensive and I live in the sticks

3.) I want to buy VERY cheap things from far away, and I don't care about losing that amount of money. Should I ever think a seller is convincable to do this?

I'd say it'd be difficult because the general idea with craigslist is being able to deal locally, nice and easy.

Easy if you find a buyer. I'm waiting for their listings to be at least four weeks old before trying this. I know my expectations are unrealistic, but I'd like to maximize my chances with social engineering (a skill that couldn't come much less naturally to the likes of me). So, any hints? If someone tried this with you, how would they go about it the right way?
