Ceph summed up the thread incredibly well. I'm here to do a textual shit to followup on that.

Denvan has a very good reason for spamming forums everywhere. He is running a business. The very first page you see is a grading service. He is trying to make money by drumming up interest in sealed games.

Do not support this endeavor. Do not support spam. Do not do business with this person. Let this miserable attempt at creating a market where nothing significant exists die a horrible death, no matter your view on collecting sealed games. In fact, even people who do collect sealed games would do well to not waste their money on his grading scheme.

In summary, do not support Denvan's business.

^^ yeah the grading business part is extremely lame, but otherwise I think there's a target audience for a forum around this subject.

I love my games but having OCD makes me very open towards owning sealed stuff just for "comfort".

I wanna play but feel at ease whn owning a non touched copy of t he game I enjoy.

"Y'see, opening the packaging makes them worth so much less on eBay."

(he's talking about souls, but denvan and his ilk treat them as if they were as valuable and inviolable)

The specific and sole reason for his new forum is to drum up people for his grading business. Don't support this moron.

if by "support" you mean actually getting a game graded by this site... yeah I'd feel stupid doing that as I can do that just as well myself (having good feedback should count for something, right!?).

But some members on the forum are genuinely nice and serious guys so I won't condemn the forum as such. Some nice people with great insight in this matter. (Gemini-P. for insance- very much in the know and a nice fella)

free dispensers of information to pirates

I'm all for letting everybody know how to pick locks and the like so people invest in better ones, because the thieves will figure it out anyway, but...in this case, just sidestep the entire goddamned issue by NOT INVESTING IN SEALED GAMES HOLY SHIT

I guess that even if you get busted for a few sealed games proven to be fakes you'll still hold your margins up with the other sales, rite?

Especially if you're grading them yourselves.

This whole grading thing is just a way to make cash for the most part.... it started with comics, then toys now games.

I mean I wouldn't feel negative towards it if it wasn't just an excuse to charge more outrageous prices for games that don't deserve it.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

If you people really don't like this topic (for me, I don't care at all about its existence), why don't you close it for good?

It is clear that Denvan is bumping, and will keep bumping with lame excuses ("back on topic"... "yeah that's right"... ) this topic just to give it visibility, expecially in a forum where the games we all love are usually rare, very credited if sealed and very expensive (I guess they're the most expensive collector's games next to RPGs, but with one thousandth the fan base.)

People who start new business are usually very intrusive like this guy. They usually don't care about what's discussed in the forums, they just keep bumping like bulls until they get enough advertisement. His avatar here is Twinbee, in another RPG forum he's spamming on it will be Cloud, in another beat 'em up forum he's spamming on it's probably Ryu and so on.

Just close it if you really hate it and get over with it :D
I know I would. I'd close every "commercial" thread coming from a user that signed in here just to spamadvertise and that has nothing to do with shmups at all (unlike our beloved LordStar, glory to him!)

I play my games..... doesn't everyone, when they have the time.

Shit, people are still replying to this...

It's obvious Denvan will bump this thread over and over again to keep it on the first page. So please, just ignore this thread already.

Or better yet, LOCK!

I politely disagree. ;)

Just don't post if it is not something you care about.

And I do care, nothing wrong with that as long as you actually like to play he games too.

This thread has run its course a long time ago. There's nothing else to say about this anymore, but Denvan won't stop bumping the thread. It's getting annoying.

i agree :)

it's funny, people who buy a sealed game off ebay and then crack it open think they're somehow offending the sealed game guys or something... when really these guys only care about their own personal collections. in fact, they end up riling up the non-sealed crowd just nicely

(i know gemini-phoenix from another board btw :o plus one or two other people from there)

the main point people can't get into their brains: it is possible to own more than 1 copy of a game. having a game sealed does not mean you aren't also playing said game

this thread will never slip off the first 3 pages 8)
