Contra 4

The Challenge Mode is a bit of a puzzle, especially later on when you gotta figure out how to plan your runs

;)

(Edit: Where'd your avatar go, anyway?)

On-topic, did you hear about Mr. ESC(ape)'s video game, Exit? I hear it's quite nice and it has a retro-50s style to it.

Sorry, Exit is for the PSP, and it's definitely puzzle related. I recall the screens of the caped and fedora-wearing hero getting poor trapped people to push blocks aside and solve puzzles for him...maximum lol that game is

I believe it's a first- or second-party Sony effort.

Planet Puzzle League for DS, the only puzzle game you'll need.

Exit is also on DS. It's from Taito, not Sony. The DS one is currently Japan only, though.

For DS I found Meteos, Planet Puzzle League, Tetris DS, and Picross DS to be very nice. One neat thing about Picross is that it allows you to download puzzles and make your own.

It's a taito game. Published by Ubisoft in the US.

What is that awesome PSP game with the MC Escher-like B+W graphics? That one is great, can't think of the name offhand though.

It's a Kirby game, can't be assed to think of the complete name right now since I pretty much lost interest in Kirby after Dream Land.

I´ve played Puchi Puchi Virus (DS) recently and found it quite charming. Basically, you have to tap same colored virii on a constantly filling playing field to connect them to triangles, and set chain reactions if these triangles overlap.

Pretty nice for short, relaxing sessions.

Yes, thanks. I just love the concept and execution of this game.

Puzzle Bobble DS is good, not sure it actually corresponds with any of the bust a move games released in America or Europe though.

What we know as Bust a Move DS is Hippatte! Puzzle Bobble in Japan. Don't think the original Puzzle Bobble DS got an English language release.

Be sure to add Puyo Pop Fever to that list also. It's a very nice distraction.

Or Metroid Prime Pinball, it's much more fun than it sounds.
