Let's Go Jungle!...let's not

Post by boagman »

So I finally gave this game the complete run-through today, going through the entire game twice. Geez-O-Pete...pretty amazingly lousy, considering the hardware it's running on, the resources for doing it the right way with the help available from AM1, AM2, and AM3 (all listed in the credits of the game), the potential...

But wow...they just dropped the stinking ball. I tend to like me some rail shooters, but this one's just a waste. It feels very, very cheap, and not just because the voice acting is the typical Sega over-acted crap. It's cheap in the "It's time for you to put in another dollar now." way. I'm usually on the more forgiving side of things like this, too, but for crying out loud, they're not even *trying* to mask it. I challenge anyone on the very last stage to pick off all the butterfly's marked sites *without* getting pounded major league. And that's just one example of several. It's unfair.

And what the *heck* is with the male character's nose? What are they trying to pull off there? Ug-freaking-ly.

So, anyway: LGJ! is pretty much not worth seeking out. I've seen several other Lindbergh titles that are far, far better, especially After Burner Climax, HotD4, and even Virtua Tennis 3. Don't bother wasting your time with LGJ!

Now you mention it, it is suprisingly similar.

The girl and I went to ATEI last year where they had a huge setup of the cab housed inside a purpose built room. You sat in a big 360 degree rotating rig, with a mini-cinema screen in front and back, and as the action switches on screen to see what's behind you, the rig spins around so you can fire at one screen before spinning you back again.

It was quite good fun.
