MEAT

Post by Nate »

What's your favorite meat; like when you get tacos at the drive-thru or when you shop for fare for the grill, what do you lean toward? If you're at a barbecue or something and there's a little of everything, what do you pile the most of onto your plate?

I really like them all, but I have to say that if I had to live on one for the rest of my life, it would have to be *smoked turkey...sorry, pork. :(

I've been on a carnitas kick lately, however fish, chicken, et al. are all good.
Also, we cannot forget the ultimate bounty of the pig, namely bacon.

Beef, of course, is the one true meat, and as such has the most capacity for being utterly disgusting or completely delicious.

But pork of course. Pork is the king of meat, what else? Maybe dried horse, but pork. Come on.
Those who can eat it (aka not allergic, not diabetic, not obese, not fucking vegan or some other new-age shit) will warmly agree.

Duck is really nice. I rarely ever eat it, but having duck breast at a nice chinese restaurant is unmatched. Otherwise, I don´t often eat meat as such as I prefer my food mushy (think Indian for example)

Pork is nice, but it makes me sick, duck if bird but I would say fish, there's just too much good fish.

I was going to start a most delicious animal thread so you sorta beat me to it. I'll go with pork because pigs are by far the most delicious animals.
Feedback will set you free.

Beef. However for health reasons I'm sticking mostly to chicken and fish. I enjoy a good sirloin burger now and then.

While I would like a vote for all forms of meat, my favorite goes to fish and poultry (avian flu be damned!)

Meat is the shit!

My favorite meat would have to be eel, but I don't have it unless I'm having Japanese, as you'd likely expect. In terms of more "mainstream" meat, I'm a sucker for pig products, though I like seafood too.

I had some good pork today, it had some kind of onion + tomato-ish sauce combination on it, but it wasn't like a spaghetti sauce...

TIP: Next time you make a big pot of beans (pinto, lima, black, navy whatever...) instead of bacon or hamhocks - you should strip a smoked turkey leg and put all the meat in there to flavor it; it's awesome, and it may be a little "healthier" I guess.

i visited my family on vacation in Zakarpattia for new years. there, we made the best damn Borscht in the world.

in a GIANT pot, we put:
-two whole chickens
-few gallons of water/broth
-buncha spices
-whole onions and garlic
-parsley
-dill
-flour
- lotsa veggies [cabbage, potatos, tomatos, beans, mushrooms, beets, ect.]

...and i put in something outlandish in the mix when nobody was looking, and made it taste great.

some Franks Red Hot sauce, lmao. best borcht in the world. i wish i had pictures of how giant of a pot we had.
