Are there any PC programs that allow you to create your own custom fonts?

Loads, but apparently this is the one you want.

It's one of those Adobe products that they didn't make (might've been Macromedia... it's been a while, and I'm drunk). Pretty sure you can import directly from Illustrator or Photoshop, which helps.

Thanks for the link, Gaijin Punch...will check it out. ^_~

I seem to recall about that little nifty program a few years back in a magazine touting a demo of it but never picked it up. Now I wish I had done so...oh well.

I used Font Creator a little while back to create a few custom letters and edit an existing font. It was pretty full featured IIRC. There is a free trial there too. I have the full version here if you want it.

That Fontographer looks the business though.

FontLab is what the pros use, although many people draw type in Illustrator and then bring it into FontLab in order to set up kerning pairs, etc.

Spiro is a very interesting project still in its infancy - it uses spirals to draw curves instead of beziers, which makes drawing type much more intuitive.

edit - I should also mention FontForge which is easily the best free program available, however, I should also say that I personally found it a nightmare to use.
