Never played Zelda
Never played Zelda
I've never played a game from the Legend of Zelda series. Am I missing anything?

You're missing out on one of the best action rpg series ever created. Do yourself a favor and try out any of these great games. I'd recommend starting out with A Link to the Past (SNES) or The Legend of Zelda (NES).
If you're looking for something newer and a little different you should give The Phantom Hourglass (DS) a try.

ok then. Guess I'll give one a spin.spongdangly wrote:You're missing out on one of the best action rpg series ever created. Do yourself a favor and try out any of these great games. I'd recommend starting out with A Link to the Past (SNES) or The Legend of Zelda (NES).

Hey what's that supposed to mean? A lot of people have never played R Type. But i was more of an action gamer back in the day. I liked Metal Gear, Excitebike, River City Ransom, Contra, Streets of Rage....yeah games like that.iatneH wrote:Wow, so you never played R-Type and never played Zelda. What have you played, besides Primal Rage?
*haha. And I'm tired of people bashing Primal Rage!! LEAVE IT ALONE!

I grew up with Sega and Atari, and like most fanboys, I was too stupid to realize that I was missing out on a lot of fun games on the other systems (NES and SNES in my case). By the time I was done with high school, I'd left all that fanboy idiocy behind, but I've yet to pick up a game from them over the years (except FFXII obviously). I just haven't had the overwhelming urge to do so.it290 wrote:Sega kid?The Coop wrote:I've never played a Zelda, Kirby, or Smash Brothers game, and my first Final Fantasy was XII

go play the newest one.... twilight princess. since you never played a zelda game you won't have nostalgia swaying your judgement.
I loved that game..... play a link to the past and OOT also.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I haven't played any of them for more than 15 minutes. As I never played any Metroid for more than 15 minutes either. Yeah, I grew up with Sega too, even though I've played hours of Mario Kart and have even finished Star Fox on both the SNES and N64, and also Super Punch-Out
BUt I am not a big fan of RPGs, so I never felt I was missing too much by not playing Zelda.

oh god, mystic quest was..simplistic, to put it kindly. i'm sure since you've played that, you've played 4 - 7 at least.Ed Oscuro wrote:<- never played a Smash Bros. or MegaMan game (aside from a little bit of emulating the one on Genesis), will fix that sometime
Used to be able to say that about Final Fantasy, until I played Mystic Quest...
and that's a little bit of a wow that you haven't touched a mega man game. i'd recommend MM2 and 3 for NES, and MMX 1-3, as well as 6.
those are probably the best of the series.
and for anyone who likes tactical rpgs, Bahamut Lagoon [snes] is an almost untouched gem. i heart it to death.

Why do you think that? Do you not trust the words before your eyes?Impervious wrote:i'm sure since you've played that, you've played 4 - 7 at least.
Let's see...I've also played a bit (like 30 seconds) of Final Fantasy Legend on GB, which we all know isn't a FF title anyway. I also have the PS2 FFXI package w/hard drive, awaiting a PS2 to put it into (not sure at this point whether I'd try the game - not a fan of subscription stuff and it can be played on a PC anyway - or just use the drive for a speedloader).
That's absolutely it, far as I know.

i meant to say, in the time you've touched MQ, since then, i'm sure you've played either 4,5,6, or 7Ed Oscuro wrote:Why do you think that? Do you not trust the words before your eyes?Impervious wrote:i'm sure since you've played that, you've played 4 - 7 at least.

still, great games. take some time off and play them.

No. Play Okami instead; it's like Zelda without all the annoying crap parts.Phil12 wrote:I've never played a game from the Legend of Zelda series. Am I missing anything?

I would believe that's Final Fantasy Adventure you're talking about. It was the original Seiken Densetsu.Ed Oscuro wrote:Let's see...I've also played a bit (like 30 seconds) of Final Fantasy Legend on GB, which we all know isn't a FF title anyway.
Legend is a bit more like the older NES style FFs. Turned into a trilogy too.

Uh, how do you know he didn't play FF Legend? Were you watching him? Are you watching him now?LGB wrote:I would believe that's Final Fantasy Adventure you're talking about. Anyway, Zelda and Mega Man are two consistently great series. If you even remotely like video games you should give them a try. Mega Man games aren't even very long. It's not much of a chore to put aside a couple of hours for pure awesome.

I have to make a digression in here. OiF is better than YS6 because it gets rid of much of the backtracking and grinding.elfhentaifan wrote:Also, Ys6 is better than Oath in Felghana, havnt really tried origins yet
