I thought removing organisms from ecosystems could create 'extinction cascades'. Sort of like big showers of gold cubes in Mars Matrix or showers of medals in Giga Wing 2.

a few billion less people wouldn't be a bad idea in any case. The number of people on this planet has reached unsustainable levels anyway.

Keep in mind they don't always know right away when a species goes extinct. There are still people hoping the Tasmanian tiger will show back up.

Yeah, articles are pointless. Next thing that goes extinct, the headline should just be a picture of the animal's head and the tagline: "Good job fuckos!'

I always wonder why the whiners who bitch about overpopulation don't just kill themselves.

ie. You hardly ever see a serious environmentalist driving a humvee. They usually drive eco friendly cars or, if they are really serious, ride bikes.

It's like the lower class can share knowledge without it having a bad effect on their status but if the upper class does the same they loose their upper class status.
Being upper class is therefore not related to knowing more but more to keeping others from knowing as much as you.
So in essence it's the upper class that keeps humanity from evolving after all.
