I decided to try growing my beard/mustache out a bit about the beginning of this year - I thought it looked okay, so I've kept it. It's relatively short, and a little patchy in some spots, but overall isn't bad - a quick trim in the morning and I'm set. Around the same time I shaved my hair real short so I don't have to comb it anymore, so the beard doesn't take any more time to maintain than the mane used to - a fair tradeoff.

<--- Picture says it all. I think I keep the facial hair as compensation for being unfairly forced to shave my head :)

Hehe, thanks. Yeah I can hide stuff in there, or hold pencils or whatever I wanna do :)

I've secretly always wanted to braid it like the guy from alice in chains did in the "Dirt" video, but I think it would need to be really really long to do that. I wonder if his was real in that video ...

@indstr: Now that's a bum beard; very nice!

One of my staple variations on my beard that I tend to wear:

I just have a full beard trimmed a little closer than that ATM though.

Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.

That's pretty badass subcon, your hair is so dark it gives a nice contrast with your face. Mine is light brown/reddish so it's not as thick looking when it's that short.

Here's an experiment I tried for a couple of days last year after I shaved..

I wanted to try handlebars, but I don't have proper moustache oil or whatever the hell it is, so I couldn't really get them to curl right :) Maybe one day
