Regarding those "brain training" games

Post by SuperGrafx »

Those of you who've been playing games like Brain Age 1 and 2 (or one of the many knock offs available for other platforms), do you honestly notice a difference in real world applications?

I'm not talking about the various progress logs and tracking bar graphs that the games display to indicate progress. Do you honestly feel your memory improving? Can you calculate figures better than you could before? Has your peripheral vision gotten better?

I'm curious.

My brother is into this stuff, and he's doing those brain exercises for about 5 months. He says he's really noticing improvements...he specifically said his memory and his peripheral vision were better.

However, he has like, 6 of those brain games (maybe more), and he does the exercises every single day. With such commitment, I'd say it's no wonder he's making progress.

Can't really say about brain games but for japanese, books are a zillion times better. I'm guessing the same applies to almost anything else.

As my fellow bumpkins would say, "Horsepucky".
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.
