Search for the extremely obscure arcade game

Post by ARCADIA »

I'm searching for one arcade game I've played only few times.

You walk on spiral path, and the goal of this game is to reach the top of the mountain or something maybe. It's a retro (early 80's) game, and it might look like the pic below (I made it with Son Son pic).

Anyone seen it?

The game pictured is SonSon. The game you are describing doesn't sound anything like it, though. I've never heard of such a game.

EDIT: Duh, you already wrote that.

Since you mention the arcades I guess it is not Nebulus. That's the closest I can think of though.

Kinda made me think of another C64 game, BC's Quest For Tires 2, although that's obviously not it either.

Isn't Boggy 84? The game has levels that are exactly what your description says. It's emulated on Mame, but the 1st stage is none like that, you'll have to get at the level 2 to see it.

Here are some screenshots:

And here is a youtube video of it

ARCADIA, is the game scrolling or is it single-screen?

Although not early 80s, it is retro style (being one button only), and matches the rest of your description. Tower and Shaft?

If you don't know the name of the game, how do you know there's no rom? And if this is a consular ship... where the FUCK is the ambassador?

Boggy! this might be it :D applaud Shatterhand

I might have seen the pic of the 1st level but wouldn't have recognized that was the game, cuz I remember only that 2nd level.

btw, Boggy 83 (by Kaneko) is the original, it's on this book The List

Thanx

Yeah, I knew the game was supposed to be originally released as "Boggy 83", and the 84 one is a bootleg.

But the MSX version, which was where I met the game first, was also called Boggy 84 (Maybe because it indeed was released in 84), and I remember playing it on mame as Boggy 84... so I thought it was most famous as boggy 84 than Boggy 83 :)
