also liberal and conservative mean different things in different countries, as in some countries in Europe the popular conservative party is identical to the Democratic Party

Some people need to die, and people shouldn't be expected to pay for a serial killer's room service. That money could be better used on programs with deterring effects and ending the prison industrial complex and wrongful convictions. I guess this opinion is what kept me from falling off the edge of the graph but I don't see it as a left/right issue.

No, you are only showing the murderers how they should have treated other people in the first place. Even some of the worst people need some compassion.JoshF wrote:By showing compassion to a murderer you are showing the opposite for their victims.
It'll only confront them with the aspect of life they missed the most.

If the murderer has indeed killed more than one person it is impossible to lower to his standards
You can only kill one of that guy for that particular case

Mmmh, took the test some time ago and got something -2,-2ish but I'll agree that a lot of questions were phrased in a way that leaves no real options.
I'd consider myself to be rather right for my age and upbringing (I'd take the conserative part in a discussion with my parents).
But probably my understanding of "right" and "left" is a lot different than it is in the USA (since a state health insurance is a pretty undisputed given here).
As for the elitist side discussion:
Being humble is fine and all but let's face it, we all measure the "worth" of people around us in one way or another (the worth of a serial killer is for example considered to be very low by JoshF). I'd guess many people who appear humble in public are arrogant to the bone and if it comes to a subject where someone is expert I think he has a right to show it (which might result in appearing arrogant).
Death penalty...
While revenge is an archaic concept that should not be instrumentalised, I see the bigger problem in the possibility of mistakes. To prevent mistakes the whole process is long and costy and I'd not be surprised if the general death candidate costs more than a longtime prisoner.
