Jacky@welink.cc?

Post by Ozymandiaz1260 »

I think I made a thread about this along time ago, but nobody knew who welink actually was. Anyway, they just sent me a price list and a lot of the boards on there are so fucking cheap it's ridiculous. Like, $250 boards selling for $70 ridiculous. Does anyone know who this is, or have any of you done business with welink?

So not a single one of the seventy of you who looked at this thread have a clue who welink is or if they're trustworthy or not?

Here is the other thread... I guess nobody ever got a response back from them. Does anyone know if someone named Jacky worked for one of the other companies? Did anybody else get the new price list? Some of the stuff is priced pretty normally, but some of it is so cheap it's just screaming 'scam'.

I'll find out in about a week if they are legit as I placed an order (some of that rare stuff was too good to pass up).

Jacky was honest in telling me which games were "copy" (bootleg) and which were "original", so I think that explains why some were extremely low.

Wow, good call. That hadn't even occurred to me. When I said 'scam' I was thinking they'd just take the money and run. Please post back in this thread when/if you get your games, they really do have quite a few that I'm interested in...

I've got some mails from a jacky at welink but they didn't send me a pricelist recently. Maybe I should complain ? :)

Ok, I got my boards in from Welink (posted pics in the Cool PCB thread), so they are not outright thieves. It took them about 3-4 days to gather and send out the boards I ordered, and came very fast through EMS.

Unfortunately one of the four boards was broken (god damn it, it had to be gunnail) so they do not throughly check the games before sending out. I'm glad they at least indicated that boomerang was a bootleg before I bought it, but could have guessed that just at the cheap price. I think the gunnail problem was simple negligence as the bootup screen looks fine, its the sprites that are corrupted. So not sure what to do with it as it will cost almost the same amount in shipping if I ask them to fix it.

All the boards were Korean version, so I guess you get what you pay for in the end anyway.

I ordered some stuff from Welink as well and received it quickly. Packaging was very robust, everything was legit, and all the boards worked. I got JP and HK versions of the games, which was just as expected. In fact, they even sent the Mitchell version of Super-X instead of the NTC version. I'd definitely do business with them again.

I little while back I had sent in my want list and they asked me if I was still interested if the games were copies, so they definately deal in bootlegs games.

Yup, so unlike Excellent and Legend (where the only illegal sets are those obvious 42-in-1s), you have to explicitly ask Welink about the condition of their item but they'll give you an honest answer. Pretty worth it IMO as they seemed to have a lot of games, shooters included (dunno whether legit or not), that are different from what the other HK distributors supply.

You don't even have to ask, she volunteered that Batsugun was a boot without me even asking.

Update: So I sent the broken Gunnail back to Jackey at Welink, and once they received it they said "sorry for the fake", and asked if I wanted a refund. They sold it to me as an original. Anyway, I got refunded for the PCB, but lost about half that on the shipping costs back to them... :x

If it wasn't for the fact that their prices are extremely cheap, I'd be pissed.

I'd just say be warned when dealing when them.

I still want to know where they got our email addresses from. The first contact I had from them was an advert for Oriental Legend 2, which I liked the look of so I asked Legend to get hold of it for me instead.

Either excellent or legend, because those are the only two that I've had contact with.

EDIT: or fujita...

I put an order in for a PCB. I've only ever seen bootlegs for sale of said PCB, but this is supposed to be an original. We'll see how it goes.

It's either Excellent or Legend. I haven't dealt with Fujita.

I too would like to know the scoop on how to contact these people/see their stores. Cheap(er) PCBs are exactly what I'm looking for. Excellent, Legend, Fujita, jacky@welink.cc? It's a world I'm unfamiliar with...

BTW, they're/she's using the list from excellent.

I give a different email to all these companies, and I just looked at the latest welink mail; it was sent to my Excellentcom email address
