p.s. there was a hilarious group of reactionaries on DP who were like "screw you collectors" and were kind of the other end of the silly spectrum. They didn't ask anybody to thank them for jacking up prices though.

Nah, not really. I think it's more entertaining to talk about how some people use DP as a support group. There have been lengthy topics about how normal people Just Don't Understand (TM) and asking for tips how to communicate one's love of Tommy Lasorda to others without suffering immediate social suicide.
