New Ebay Feedback System: Ratio based on Last 12 Months
New Ebay Feedback System: Ratio based on Last 12 Months
As you know, sellers can no longer give negative feedback, which is supposed to prevent them from issuing negative feedback as revenge.
But there is another change: The postive/negative feedback ratio is now based only on the past 12 months. Yeah, nice.
I suppose from now on you'll have to use external tools if you want to find out how much bad feedback a seller really has.

Probably because you can get more points from a single seller as to where you would only get one point before, no matter how much you bought.Turrican wrote:probably unrelated, but I saw my feedback grow like +50 stars in a day. And no, I don't have a clue why it happened.
My feedback grew too from yesterday to today.
All errors are intentional but mistakes could have been made.
Top of the crap is that you can't even see the bidders' usernames anymore "to protect their privacy". What privacy? It's not like anyone is using their real name on ebay. Even sellers no longer get to see names of bidders sending price offers. Really, WTF?Ed Oscuro wrote:I LIKE BEING ISOLATED FROM OTHER USERS

sersly, I can't even email the second highest bidder on an auction I WON after it's over
what is that crap
Of course the real reason for this is ebay's greed, because they are afraid someone could make a sale without them getting any fees. On the other hand it makes scamming really easy, as now you can't even warn others anymore.
Either way scammers can profit.Ceph wrote:On the other hand it makes scamming really easy, as now you can't even warn others anymore.
Old way: "Hey this game is a pirate" (although I never knew of anybody using it for anything but legitimately warning bidders of pirates, I'm sure it happened anyway)
New way: "Hey kid, want some candy?"
That's.. really dumb, but I've seen dumber. A local site called TradeMe has a reputation system which will almost always result in revenge feedbacks being placed, because.. well, people are just like that, worldwide.
I'll continue to avoid eBay as much as possible though. $31 (postage only) to ship Final Fantasy III to NZ? Get BENT.

Ah! That explains it, thanks!Michaelm wrote:Probably because you can get more points from a single seller as to where you would only get one point before, no matter how much you bought.Turrican wrote:probably unrelated, but I saw my feedback grow like +50 stars in a day.
