Either quit reading Kotaku, or learn about how you can filter out certain stories on their site. Bookmark this instead if you really, really need your daily dose of Brian Crecente and his magnificent hair:

On a side note, I figured I'd never, ever want to see any of Boll's video game movies. Not because they're Uwe Boll movies, but they're video game movies and we all know how well those turn out. Last night, my girlfriend was watching Alone in the Dark and I caught the last thirty minutes of it and nearly wept over how stupid it was. Then, the "DIRECTED BY UWE BOLL" card came up and I then actually wept.

Also don't read Kotaku unless you really like video game cakes and papercrafts and Uwe Boll and lame public emails between the staff members and their personal lives.

Yeah, I know, but they update so friggin' much. Hard to resist. Sometimes they do come through though. That name is so freaking weird. In Dutch it almost says: "your sphere".

He's not even that bad a director. I think anyone who criticises him should watch more films :D

At least Kotaku isn't as bad as Joystiq. I hate that goddamn image Joystiq uses whenever the DS is selling well (when doesn't it?) that has Satoru Iwata and Miyamoto holding a DS and exclaiming, "IT PRINTS MONEY!!!" Every time I see that thing I go into Picard-facepalm mode.

House of the Dead is the greatest so bad that it's good film in years!

One of the worst things seemingly born on the internet is the worst variant of "repetition humor". Because some people think that things get funnier the more often you repeat them. IT PRINTS MONEY!!! is nostalgic by now. Every time I see old shit repeated over and over again I have to think of this one Family Guy clip where this father (I don´t know any names since I never really saw it) hits his knee and says "Ouch!" for three minutes or something.

I just saw an episode of The Simpsons yesterday I never saw before, where Bart fakes his own kidnapping and Milhouse plays frisbee with himself. The same animation was repeated maybe SIX TIMES. I don´t want this Family Guy/American Dad-crap in my favourite series (that has certainly gotten worse, but in Germany they air the better ones more often, and it´s still miles above the other "edgy and hip" cartoons I just mentioned). I hate how they expect you to find seing the same thing OVER AND OVER again funny. It´s just convenient for the animators and embarassingly pretentious.
And this is coming from someone who LOVES Beavis and Butthead - those new cartoons have become so cynical and sterile somehow.

Ah, got carried away a little. There was a very fitting article on SomethingAwful about this horrible variant of internet humor recently:

House of the dead was that bad I gave up on it about 1/2 way through. I've a copy of Bloodrayne the movie in the house at the minute, I think my brother only bought it because of Kristana Loken, but I haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

Side note: anyone seen dragon wars yet? its cheap in Tescos, might pick it up for some giant monster mayhem.

Uwe Boll is at least directly related to gaming. They waste so much time with other articles which are completely irrelevant (Constant Lucky Star and Haruhi updates come to mind).

They also seem to love bashing Yuko Ogura for some reason, even though she hasn't had anything to do with gaming in ages.
