That looks pretty awesome, anyone got a jailbroken Iphone or Ipod touch and tried them out?

I havn't jailbroken mine, I'm waiting to see what the 2.0 upgrade will be like (coming out in june). but this little gadget is great.

It's kind of neat, but how can you play those effectively with your thumb all up in the way?

I think I'll stick to playing them on my PSP.

The lack of real buttons is what I really hate about the iPhone concept. That they ported these games is sweet but, as you already pointed out, pretty pointless.

Hmm, I dunno, I could see rRootage actually being pretty fun, though in general I agree about the iPhone being pretty useless for games. A well-done Breakout clone would rule, though.

It's neat to see that games/apps such as these are running on the iPhone at all, not that I would go about making the effort to play them on it if I owned one.

Take Quake III Arena. The fact that someone actually got it to run on the thing is impressive, but it's not something that I would be dying to play on the iPhone when I could play it on the PC (or the Dreamcast, even).

well, noiz and rRootage are certainly not the best games for a 3.5 inch touchscreen.

but a shmup that would be more or less designed around those specifics could be great. maybe something old-school with a bigger hitbox and bigger sprites.

also many games on these are played using a fake dpad and buttons mapped to a certain part of the screen. Space invaders could be great with that configuration.
