Aww my GBA is very "touchy" with GB carts.
So I was playing my GBA while camping and suddently I just touched the GBC cart with my finger lightly. BOOM 20 + hours of data lost. I tried it again with a non saving game just to make sure and sure enough I cannot touch the carts while they are inside the GBA unit. This is sort of depressing. As I said earlier I like this little unit better than the DS because I have more travel capability with AA batteries and also because I can play my GB and GBC games. Anyone had a problem with small bumps freezing GB or GBC games on the GBA?

No, this game is not Space Invaders.

The SP takes battery packs. = FAIL for camping. Otherwise I would. I'd rather just have a package of AA Batteries. I guess I'll just have to bring along the GBC and Advance for now. Also I don't really care for the shallow buttons on the newer handhelds.
The GBA is perfect for me because:
1 Plays GB,GBC,GBA games.
2 Batteries that can be bought in any store.
3 Big responsive buttons.
Would everyone do me a favor and simply put in a GB cart and give er a small tap? It would be nice to know if this is just my system alone. I wonder if Nintendo would still do repairs on this.....

The GBA-SP with brighter screen variant and the later released GB-Micro are cool...both take replaceable Li-Ion batteries. Both the GBA-SP and the original hefty DS use the same size Li-Ion battery. The GB-Micro uses it's own speciality smaller battery pack and A/C charger though.
You can buy bigger 3rd-party Li-Ion battery packs for the GBA-SP with average run times of about 16 hours per charge...adds more heft and weight are the only downsides but greater gameplay duration is the end result...

I have been reading some books.iatneH wrote:Whoops, how could I forget! OK, SP then. And don't forget a book too. Good old-fashioned non-electronic entertainment.CStarFlare wrote:IIRC Micros don't play GB/C games.
Hyperspace: A Scientific Odyssey Through Parallel Universes,
The Art of the Infinite: The Pleasures of Mathematics
C++ Programming in 24 hours.
OpenGL Red book
OpenGL Orange Book
and a small smattering of my Bible
But I digress I may just have to buy another GBA for AA batteries, responsive buttons and full GB game support. I've got in about 20 hours on the old GBA. I'll be going back today. More rain so it will be an indoor game fest.

There's an OGL orange book? I thought the red book was pretty definitive, at least before GPU programming came into it. Is that what the orange book covers?
Also to asnwer your question, I've never had any troubles with my GBC carts in my GBA. Sounds like you have a faulty unit.
