Maybe they could go for the angry old man (frank miller) thing?

Pssh, he's in damn good shape for his age; I hope I look that good when I'm that old!circuitface wrote:That looks terrible. He doesn't look rugged at all, just old and grumpy.Ceph wrote:I am looking forward to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. But gee, the new Indy sure looks old...
And as far as the title goes; it's Indiana Jones folks, not a Jane Austin novel.

If it makes you feel better, i was more blaming the photographer than Harrison Ford. This is not a good publicity photo. He's too clean, his pants are riding high just like my gramps and there's a thin-thigh crease heading all the way up top crotch. He looks geriatric in a sad way. I'm sorry.

So, without spoiling things for us not-yet viewers, is this any good?
Certainly one of the sequels I always hoped would be made, so I have high expectations.
Had the same thing about Star Wars prequels, and came out entertained but not impressed or thinking it was what they should have done with it.
Anyway, since it IS out in the open soon (22 May here in Europe) and some may actually have seen it already, please give us your verdict.
No spoilers please.

Nobody does, but apparently he gives Spielberg amazing blowjobs because he has finagled his way into his two latest summer action movies based on absolutely no merit. His list of accolades prior to last year consisted almost entirely of bit parts in Constantine and I, Robot and the Disney Channel. He was in that movie Bobby along with half of Hollywood, so maybe he gave a dynamite performance ( I never saw it), but I doubt it.Pixel_Outlaw wrote:I don't like the kid actor from the disney channel.
I heard they already have.GaijinPunch wrote:
EDIT: Spielberg better not fuck this up.

Man, that is no BS! The League of Extraordinary Poor Movies was a dismal, horrible way to end an Extraordinary career.Ceph wrote: It's sad that as it stands Connery's role in that turkey 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' will have been his last on-screen performance. Not a great way of bidding farewell to a long and successful acting career.
I havent seen Indie 4 (yet) but Ive seen a promotional photo of Ford in costume & he looked terribly old & unfit for the role as Jones.
EDIT: Oh, I see weve already discussed this fact... nevermind!

Keep in mind I checked here when the first Cannes reviews rolled in and it weighed in at 67% (about three days ago.)

dumb.... raiders is still leages better than most that come out these days.Let's face it, this movie's gonna be utter trash. And the best indication of this are the previous three films.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I just came from the theater to watch this.
It's not as good as Raiders of the Lost Ark, but few things on the world are... when the movie uses CGI FX it really feels stupid, and it's the weakest movie on the series.
Yet it's very enjoyable, very fun to watch, and I don't think it would dissapoint most Indy fans. I enjoyed it a lot.

Agreed, weakest film of the bunch.
The beginning is slow, then you have the usual routine of finding out whats what. Bad people also in pursuit, lots of racing and fighting to get to the Holy place. Bad person uses special power and it backfires. Holy place starts crumbling, every good guy jumps and just makes it before all evidence/existence of the holy place is obliterated.
The END.
The point is, the movie doesn't offer anything new. The END is really not the sort of ending you would expect from an Indy movie. They don't even use the theme music but in two places in the movie and one of those bits its the credit roll
7/10 and thats generous.

This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
A great throwback to the classic series, although pretty similar in scope to The Last Crusade. Every sense of cheesiness has been maintained, with plenty of comic relief. A CG scene at the end does look really cheesy though...brought back painful memories of Jar Jar Binks. Amazingly, I couldn't even tell that was Cate Blanchett until the credits.
