i can't believe so few people on here play this game properly... :?
Well, very few people can't even see this game in action on a saturn...it's a matter of money, you know
In fact, I must say a HUGE "thank you" to Neverland, who lent me the game. :D

Nothing like coming back to Silvergun after a while and getting a new personal high score.

Saturn Mode
SamIAm - 13,676,420 - Stage 5 - (A)22 (B)14 (C)18

I keep saying this, but I really need to learn how to chain stage 5 now. As it is, I'm not even trying to chain at all.

Can someone answer my questions on the strategy topic? Thank you! :)

Wow, I've been playing this game for about 9 months now and haven't even posted one score, despite it being my all-time fav ):

Kenchan - 12,678,390 - All clear (stage 4) - A23 B18 C33

Missed the last two reds on 3E, but perfect chained all of stage 4; just learned how to maximize my reds on 4E. Still can't really mess with stage 5, it only netted me 779,030 this run. Still raped my old score by about 800,000. I find it funny that I never bothered to learn stage 2 at all; I've only ever beat it all once a long time ago haha D:

Also, I guess I might as well put this up:

Kenchan - 50,087,060

Back to this after a long hiatus.

AST-POW - arcade - 7,325,390 - stage 5 (stage 2) A20 B16 C20.

Too bad I can't practice stage 5, its opening just blows my head.

I've done it...

26.023.520 pts - All clear stage 4 - A33 B33 C33

Just a little mistake on the 4b stage where I've missed the last chain (74k pts). I've also missed 2 red on the 4e mid boss, I could score 200k pts more on the 4e boss. Anyway stage 5 is almost perfect (for me) with 11.7 M pts.
Without these 2 little mistakes, I could score 26.2 M pts...

Congratulations, man!

Are you going to upload it to super-play? That would be awesome to see, especially since your new score surpasses T^3-CYR-WIZ's playthrough uploaded there.

mmm...my score doesn't surpasse WIZ's playthrough. His video back to 1998 November. Since his best score is more than 27M pts but he never beat the world record with stage 4 (but he beat the world record with st2).
If you want to compare, I can tell you that he made 100k pts more on stage 3 and 200k pts more on stage 4, but I play 300k pts more on stage 5.

I mean the one that's on super-play currently. He gets 26,015,290 there, slightly less than your new run.

Superb score ben! Have you ever thought about doing a stage 2 route run? Would be interesting to see what you can come up with.

No !
Sometime I get 52k but never 58k. I can't get 58k chain with the pattern I use. Maybe I must practice with another pattern.

Say Ben, as another guy who both loves video games and also thinks Radiant Silvergun is about as good as it gets, I have a sort of suggestion for you. It's just a thought, really, but if you would ever want to write some kind of essay about why you love Radiant Silvergun, I would be genuinely interested in reading it. I know it would be a pain for you to do it in English, but really, you must have some deep thoughts on this game and its genius, and I'd love to know what a player like you has to say about it. Seriously.

That's an excellent suggestion ! I never think about it.
You already have the FAQ I wrote with Radigo. You can translate it with yahoo (much better than google). One thing I could do is to compare this game with another masterpiece shmup (ddp, garegga...) and explain why this game is so much interesting. That could be too hard for me in English, but in French with translation...why not !
indeed! i'd like to see you and radigou do this game for nolife tv
I would love to share the video with commentaries but I don't have the right. I could ask to the boss of Nolife Tv, he's a friend of mine.

Great job beating the 26m mark, ben!:D That is spectacular and I can't wait to see the vid. They can say this game is overrated to eternity, but watching a top-notch run is beautiful. A good beer and a RSG superplay, and it's a good way to spend an hour.

Other than the usual congrats, I feel to say...thank you :)
