Good point. I'd like you to be wrong (as in I'd like Ketsui to be that great - I don't mean I'd take pleasure in you being wrong!), but you are most likely right Ceph...

JAPJAC – you need to see more flatland skating mate! Although Mullen is incredible, compared to some of the best he’s not so top. Sounds hard to imagine I know, but check out the old ‘Ban This’ video and you’ll see what I mean.

Kind of makes your Ketsui point moot! Hope you enjoy the vids though!

Spadgy, not sure if you still keep up with skating but Mullen is still doing it and is still the best. Nobody can touch his combination of freestyle and street which he still manages to do with impeccable style at his age. Many have tried to top him and many have failed. Where he excels is his ability to adapt and his fluid like style. Besides, i don't think there ever was a skater as innovative as he. (not trying to change your opinion but you owe it to yourself to check out modern day mullen).

Sorry to veer off topic (I find myself doing this often lately :?

Value for money wise it is nowhere near the best, seeing as it *still* costs $1,000 or so.

You might find it more obtainable when the Xbox360 port comes out!

I own one and.. along with every shmup for it. Want to know something? They all have bugs. Every single one of them. That said, if it's a bad port, the price of the game's PCB may rise.

It`s like the `77 Star Wars, Akira anime, Rodney Mullen or the Audi ur-quattro, everything else before or after seems a bit shite compared.
See, even though I've played Ketsui...if I hadn't, that would probably put me off :P

I'd liken Divine Sealing to Star Wars - though even this feels like I'm tarnishing Divine Sealing's already lowly reputation, rather than the other way around ;)

Good to know. Although I was just attempting to be sarcastic with my post. I mean...a Cave shooter on a Japanese Xbox 360? And only for Japan no less! The hilarity...

Raiden Fighters Aces has been bug free for me, but I play in 60fps mode. You only get the bugs in 54fps mode. Once the patch is released, the bugs will be forgotten anyway.

Off-topic so I'll keep it short. Yeah - I still Skate every day (mainly flatland). Yes - I follow Mullen and think he's amazing. Yes - I still think he's not the best flatland skater!

Yes - Despite what I said before, Ketsui 360 excites the shit out of me - I'm just trying to resist getting too fat on hype and lining myself up for disappointment. Even the best games can do that if you expect too much.

I didn't play Ketsui enough when it was down at Casino to say too much about it's quality then, but it was incredible.

I think Grinning Cat sums up how I feel, why I brought up skating, and why I have a slight inclination to agree with Grinning Cat on this one:
See, even though I've played Ketsui...if I hadn't, that would probably put me off

They still exist, though. They're annoying.

All these bugs make me question the Ketsui port. Like I said, this is why I've gotten into PCBs lately.

Thanks for the Civil replies guys.
And as for the others,, well not much is to be desired!

For starters how am i ever able to make up my own mind without ever having the chance to try them out?

Little feedback doesn't hurt.

And thanks again.
I will opt for the 360 version.

Er... yes... in this particular thread I might have fallen into the second category of replies... wasn't much help - sorry about that!

In terms of making your mind up without having a chance to try them out, as you may know (depending on how long you've been into shooters) that's a regular hurdle to getting further into the genre.

So sometimes you gotta just take the chance, but I think it's fair to say with Cave games, if you like one you'll like most likely like the rest (It's been the case for me so far). If that doesn't hold true with any one Cave game you buy, then there's rarely going to be a time you can't sell it for more or less the same price very fast.

My friend TekCadet came to Tokyo/Kyoto Japan for 5 weeks on holiday last year. I made a video. Highlights include some Sega OutRun Hydraulic Coin-op action and some ropey Ketsui playing. Enjoy:

I hope I'm making myself clear.
Perfectly, mate - just as long as we're not knocking Gradius here. ;)

I mean, the series has never had any aspirations of offering deep scoring systems, and it's not as though its games feel any 'shallower' than games that do. Its loops aren't really a concession to anything...

I really want this port to come out, I want to see how this game really stands up to the claims and price hype.

I'm not saying it won't but games like Sapphire don't really live up to their prices. I'm really curious and eager to play it, I'm sure I'll like as I've never me a cave cave game i didn't like.

What is the biggest factor in making it so special? the bullet patterns?

I am wondering if it will wind up like Guwange.... I love that game. It's look and presentation are great, but it's not my favorite to play. Mine are Mushi and ESP Galuda 2.

I haven't played Mushi 2, Ketsui, Pink Sweets, MMP, or the newest DDP though.

I always thought Ketsui and Progear had a similar feel... With the bullet eating and all.

\don't listen to me though. I've spent like 1+h on Ketsui.
