Today I went to Gamestop to see if they came w/ the game; the dude said yeah but they were only for pre-orders...so he called over to a couple of stores. The second store manager said that she had one left, but didn't know what she was going to do w/ it...I grabbed the phone out of the clerk's hand and said, "Hey, Liz! It's me Nate! Remember that day we spent half an hour talking about shooters and collecting? And, you like to collect handbags?".

I offered her five bucks for the figure; she said I could have if I bought her a Dr. Pepper! So, I got one - for $1.89 WOOOO-HOOOO!!!

Go to a Gamestop and see if they have any lying around! Maybe you can find a manager or clerk that's cool enough to call some other stores for you! A little persistance and you never know!

I managed to pick one up from the Gamestop near me without the game. They had 2, and the manager said that the one would probably sit there forever.

Yep, ol' PCE-FX here, was able to score an PSP R-Type Command promotional piece as well without the need to pre-order the PSP game anyways. So yes, it's possible to score one without an game purchase whatsoever from your local Gamestop -- free for the asking.
