Harmful Park has a "Score Attack" mode which isn't actually restricted by time, but it's just a short, unique level instead. So more or less the same thing.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

summer carnival '06: recca in toyland aka ibara sorekara: pink sweets.
it features a 5minute score attack which is level 6 from the main game (which has totally awesome music, but that is just a side-note).
warning: a huge warning sign is approaching fast!

Super Aleste / Space Megaforce has a "Short Game" mode that's intended for score purposes, although you aren't given a time limit.

Beside the 2 minute score attack, Nexzr Special has Time Attack where you need to get 1,000,000 points as quick as possible. It seems to lack a 5 minute SA mode however.

Thanks to Play-Asia for having this one on stock.

I think it's 1M in under 5 minutes, that's how Recca works (but a different score to get)

So basically there really is a 5 minute mode, it's just different.

Gahaha, I've played this before and never guessed it had that mode. How is it accessed?

Press both buttons on both players when the continue count down is 0.

Awesome, thanks 8)

By the way, Super Aleste's caravan mode is pretty tough and also seemed somewhat crap lol. Too much stuff to shoot, would need a lot of time to figure out what's worth the most points...well, maybe that's a good thing for repeat plays.

I confirm it for Battle Mania 2. The first Trouble Shooter doesn't seem to have it, but they may have removed it in the western release.

I couldn't try Blaster Burn cuz 2nd disc (of DS #26) doesn't work on emu, how is it, anyone?

Nope, nothing.

I also had forgotten how much I hate Battle Mania's cutscenes. Goofy music...
