Accomplishments you're proud of / good things happening

I thought it would be cool to have a thread about good things in your life, especially non-shmup related accomplishments!
me: graduating from college in 2 weeks with a BS in Computer Science and a minor in Math!
also: got a new high score of 155,200 on my Donkey Kong arcade the other day!!
so what's good about life lately shmups.com-ers?

the destruction of everything, is the beginning of something new. your whole world is on fire, and soon, you'll be too..
I just recently finished making my very own feature-length movie! I didn't have anyone help so I wrote it, shot it, edited it, did music for it, and play every single character. It's about this alien force called the Black Lord that comes from the Grey Giant (the star around which all the galaxies in the universe rotate). It comes to Earth and starts creating a cult of serial killers on a quest for world domination. It took me about a year to do so I'm pretty happy to be done.
The movie is called Shrineland and it'll be running on Chicago Public Access TV (Channel 19) in a month or so and half of it is on YouTube (if you care to watch), the rest is soon to follow. I'll be the first to admit though, it will test your patience...

Good for you. I know far too many people who couldn't hack it and dropped out. Now it's time for the real world (which isn't so bad, really).mirkvid wrote:me: graduating from college in 2 weeks with a BS in Computer Science and a minor in Math!

That's not good. I dunno about you but I'm in class playing Sudoku/iPod Solitaire for 2-3 hours a day and doing whatever the hell I want the rest of the time, and I'm taking 18 credits. For a lazy bastard like myself it's easy to see why college is regarded as the nostalgic idealmirkvid wrote:After reading a super depressing topic http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?t=19999

I'm ready to take a big step in my life (for the second time) and I'm kinda excited about that.
What's even better is that I can foresee even the day when I'll have to go back and do it all over again.
But an exciting, yet a bit uncertain and frustrating, life is 3.000 times better than a boring and stable life, stuck in a place forrever. That's why I prefer portable consoles at the mo

Alas, Ikaruga is going...
Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

I'm graduating college in about 2 weeks and getting ready to start the next phase of my life. I have no fuckin' clue what I'm going to do, but I've got a great supportive family, a sweet girlfriend, good drinking/gaming buddies, and I live in beautiful Seattle, so I'm not too worried about the unforeseen future.

I think I have to agree with you here :(Emperor Fossil wrote:Except this thread is way more depressing than that other one.
That's my only contribution to this thread, it's for happy people only.

That is pretty impressive. I've only lost about 14 kilos in the past 7 months =/ Another 14 or so though and I'll be pretty slim.
Note: I'm a silly American and I had to use a converter to figure out how much a kilo was =) For those of you too lazy to do the same and also don't know the metric system, Ladylock has lost about 132 pounds. Keep it up! (assuming you've got further you want to go, that is)

I was accepted to the masters program in political science at University of New Hampshire. I still have two schools to hear back from yet.
Feedback will set you free.
