Too many religion topics.

Actually, I'm leaving for Berlin in a while. Anybody have suggestions for things to do while there (hopefully things that are free or close to it)?

Kunsthaus Tacheles.

Oh and Tresor, I always wanted to go there, shame it's no longer at the old location.

If you do want to "see" german chicks, go to Dresden. The place is just amazing, the most and hottest chicks I have ever witnessed in one place. Not that the girls in Berlin were bad, but seriously, Dresden = win.

Listen to this man. His words are the truth... unless said ladies start to talk with their thick Saxon accent.

@ Ed: Get drunk with the countless variations of Berliner Weisse, an excuse for a low alcohol wheat beer. Try it with "a Schuss", i.e. more alcohol. Otherwise, Berlin has a whole load of small and dirty clubs worth checking out... depending on your musical preferences of course.

Actually, my friend from college went there to see his girlfriend.

She waited until he was back home to give him the news she decided to dump him

Surprised there's so many posts for clubs...while that sounds vaguely interesting, I'm something of a killjoy irl and much too uninteresting to go clubbing, really!

Figure out a way to play the US version of Return to Castle Wolfenstein on the biggest screen you can find that's out in public. See what happens.

You wouldn't get one of these in Berlin, if you did. While they are called "Berliner" in the rest of Germany, they call the "Pfannkuchen" (pancakes) in Berlin. Or so I was told.

If you happen to leave Berlin for a short trip to Hamburg (it's really not that far away, especially if you're used to American scales), we can have a mini shmup meet.

Heh, I had a German polysci prof who talks like that. Well, not exactly, because he would never say those words or anything like them.

Germans actually talk about the war and its impacts quite a lot, it's just that there are getting to be some Neo-Nazis (especially in the East) which is always good times in the making

I don't think that's possible, sorry :( After Berlin I'm taking the train to Bremen, however. Then home from there.

Berlin is the best city in the world ever. Don't forget to check out the East side of the city as well. There's some cool record shops there, I seem to remember. Understanably, the East and West sides of the city have a completely different feel. It's like getting two for the price of one :D

You should PM me when you're going to Berlin and we ca have a mini-shmup-meet here, since I just moved to this city.

There's some other shmups forum guys from Berlin, we could contact too.

Also, you should go to S-Bahn Station Eberswalder Strasse and have Germany's finest curry-sausage at Konnopke's! :D

They're called Pfannkuchen in the South as well. I think "Berliner" seems to be only used by you weird Northerners.

Lol, I just moved to Kreuzberg.

I mean, it's kind of ghetto, but it's not like it's super unsafe or anything.

I've walked through random back alleys of Paris and Sydney (two that come to mind) late at night and doesn't afraid of anything. Of course, fares can be a bear, I guess  Probably will just have a ticket and wander around the place.
