Interesting Toy: NeoCube

The NeoCube

"The NeoCube is an entertainment device like no other in the world"

but wasn't there something similar to this one long time ago?

Wow...magnetized BB's.
I know that sounds kinda sarcastic, but then again, some of us older people remember playing with bed springs and watching them "roll" down stairs. (aka "Slinky")

Seriously though, The Neo Cube looks kinda cool, but the name sure throws it off. They should consider re-naming.

It was more of an icosahedron than a cube.

It seems that the product is more than the sum of its parts.

That is really neat. I wonder if these magnets eventually loose their fields rendering the toy useless?

No, this game is not Space Invaders.

P_O: Rare-earth magnets last an awfully long time unless exposed to excessive heat.

I want these. It looks like each BB holds two magnets, right?!?

The MSRP of $29.95 USD sounds reasonable for the NeoCube puzzler toy...will it become the next Rubik's Cube? ^_~

I recall solving the Master Edition version of Rubik's "Unlink the Rings" puzzle upon the first 15 minutes of purchasing it back in 1988...is better than the original 1987 Rubik's puzzler "Link the Rings" puzzle IMO + the ability to create some fascinating geometric shapes with some flips, flaps and folds.

Nowdays, it's possible to solve the "Link the Rings" puzzle in about 15-20 seconds if you know the quickest solution...goes for some serious $$$ on eBay since Matchbox and Seven Towns didn't produce that many copies of it, especially in brand new condition.

Did anyone else find that video to be extremely creepy?

I half expected to hear a little girl's muffled scream in the background.

Looks like one of those neat things, just to keep a bag in the office to have cool shapes on your desk.

Next it should be done with BBs of different sizes, then it's like a molecular model kit that would be a nightmare to put together.

Holy crow, that's awesome. I've got just the sort of neurotic personality to enjoy forming various shapes and patterns out of tiny magnets.

What's funny is that from a quick price check, ordering his $30 "neo cube" seems to be cheaper than buying 216 spherical neodynium magnets, so I might actually get this.

...His website's design sucks ass though.

Wow... that is literally one of the most ghastly websites I have ever seen.
