Yeah, that vid's bizzare. I can't remember if i've said it here before, but by far the best/worst part of the sequence is the cardboard underpants...
Yeah at 1:59, I bet she is saying "this is why shmup girls should have nopantsu!"

All that speculation before it even gets released to the arcades...
Yes, I love the "they should release this on the 360!" argument... which people say in regards to just about anything it seems. Sometimes it's just as silly as the "Sega should release Shenmue IIII on the Dreamcast" argument.

I love how they use all the original DDP bosses as midbosses in Daifukkatsu. But what I don't like is the Futari-ish upbeat music. Doesn't match the dark militaristic theme IMHO.

That holds especially true during diagonal movement, when it's hard to judge the precision due to craft tilting to the sides, and during really dense patterns (which you should know by experience in dodging Hibachi's attacks).
Well I'd need more experience with games that have visible hitboxes but I'm guessing visible hitboxes are good mostly for people unfamiliar with the game : it's a pain in the ass if the hitbox isn't drawn to figure out where it is exactly by experimenting for hours. But once you're really familiar with the game... I doubt it makes a difference. People can dodge nearly pixel perfect stuff in dodonpachi without the hitbox being drawn, even with movements that cause the ship to hide it's hitbox position even more (lateral movements).

Stage 3 track sounds like DOJ Stage 1 track remixed... at least the first of it.

Preorders are welcome. Release date : May 22nd; $2,328 from Legends. That's merely a couple of Euros; come on guys!

Hmm, get new DoDonPachi or go see Harrison Ford get chased by a giant boulder while in a wheelchair... it's a tough decision.

Wow, this DDP kinda… sucks. :D It looks like a freaking doujin with super extra shiny++ visuals.

Clearly, Manabu Namiki should be fired, and then beaten to death, so that he'll never write music for Cave games again.

Though I kind of dig the altered difficulty curve (it's seemingly easier during the stage portions compared to DOJ), the game seems quite shallow despite all the sweet eyecandy. Though I guess it just needs a Black Label version, or at least a "1.5".

He can make good music if he isn't trusted with anything more than XM.

Dude, that guy's music totally made Ketsui and the Mushihimesama series. Otherwise those games would have felt even more horribly rehashed than normal.

It started faltering at Mushihimesama.

Ketsui is almost as good as Garegga's soundtrack, though.

Ketsui is in the past. Meanwhile, 90% of Namiki's soundtrack output is remixes on the 10% of his earlier soundtrack output. I'm a huge sucker for videogame music — I'd even go as far as saying good music consitutes up to 70% of my enjoyment of any game — and this constant rehashing makes me dislike it so much I can't stand listening to it. Namiki hasn't had a successful solo soundtrack work for years, time for him to go and have a rest from it or something.

If you don't believe me, listen to DDP DF OST and try to find a single excuse for it being absolutely worthless.

I just watched the whole thing. Impressions:

- Game looks gorgeous!
- Lots of recurring enemies. Even the DOJ 1-up cannon appears here.
- What's with the bomb replenishing? You use all bombs, then you get a full restock? :?
- No 2nd loop!? :? :?

Show me a doujin game with a fraction of the dedication put into this.
Clearly, Manabu Namiki should be fired, and then beaten to death, so that he'll never write music for Cave games again.
But this I whole heartedly agree with. But anyone they would get in his place would suck ass as well.

Bomb Style gets a sick amount of bombs. Has the same gimmick as DDP. So, 1CC for a bomb whore isn't that tough.

There are bomb restock items
- No 2nd loop!? :? :?
There's rumor of one, but it was on 2ch, so who knows.

Even so, one bomb item giving you a full stock is ridiculous.

It just encourages mass bombing, like the guy did on the video.

If you find the bomb replenishing objectionable, you are always welcome to clear the game not using any bombs. :D

He clearly can´t get over his Garegga phase it seems.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S70C9-SsWuw

Though, as we found out earlier, his work isn´t entirely original to begin with:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqrNByKYtO0

I think his best work is heavily influenced by this special Detroid Techno sound, or early drum`n´bass hardcore like in Zedblade.

Compare this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBgyf0JW06M
to something like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OULQssed ... re=related
(Actually, I find the Zedblade soundtrack to be pretty annoying, aside from that sweet ship select tune, whereas I love stuff like Tom&Jerry...but I guess you get my point.)

If your PC can't render it fast enough, it will be choppy. For me, it was fine 99% of the time, but I've got a Athlon X2 4200+.

I think this is their solution to making the game easy/hard depending on how you want to play it .. not a completely bad idea, but it makes playing for survival rather boring (Hmm, should I bomb here, or bomb? Tough choice!).
