Lol, I know what you mean. The thing about LC! is that I HATE the vocals so much. There's some amazing riffs but it's all spoiled by their fat cunt of a singer shitting all over the music. And that girl with the pathetic faux American accent... Awful. It's a shame, they're really good live, but they'd work so much better as an instumental band.

yeah it was a good day!! i hadn't been digging for cheap records for like 4-5 months cos my flat got swamped with lps.. i cleared up my flat and threw away about 300-500 lps i would never listen to and now i can ammass more crap(hopefully a better standard of crap!)
found so many cool records these past 2 weeks :D

i always give my spaers/dubbles/unwanteds to friends so i have real good digging karma.. i'm also quite handy at whipping them records if i don't like the price

yeah that c.j and co is a great cover.. that is the first disco record in my collection that i dont hate for just chilling and listening(i soemtimes sample disco drums but i hate disco strings) its just well bassline driven chilled and spacey.. dennis coffey produced as well 8)

I liked the God's Balls record. And the Salt Lick EP too. There's a CD release of both of those together (minus a song or two) that's well worth checking out. After that, I couldn't really do Tad, personally.

Uh...in my car's cassette player:

V/A - Metal Massacre III (Metal Blade compilation)
Subhumans - Time Flies + Rats

and over dinner:

Miles Davis - Nefertiti

xiu xiu - women as lovers

i like how all the music bloggers are accusing him of going pop now even though he's still singing about incest and crushing ashtrays/pastries into someone's breasts. the internet makes things passe so much more quickly, surely all social mores will be totally eradicated in 20 years or so.

Also, I would recommend God's Balls too but get the Saltlick album which actually contains every track from God's Balls.

Actually, unless there's an expanded version I'm not aware of, there are two songs on God's Balls that didn't make it to that release: "Hollow Man" and "Nipple Belt". The first is pretty meh, but "Nipple Belt" is kind of a cool track if you can find it. Yeah, another song about Ed Gein (iirc), but still...

I'm glad you guys brought up Tad. Hadn't listened to them in ages, but I busted out my vinyl copy of GB this morning. Now to find where the hell I put Salt Lick. Cheers!

Oh, fun fact: when I was in high school, the only song my moms ever heard through my door and told me to turn off was "Behemoth".

"You will fall down behemoth...MOTHER FUCKER!!" Ah, good times.

It takes a few listens to sink in, like all good albums :)

Interestingly, my girlfriend has just started getting into Don Caballero, thus this is possibly all I'll be listening to for the next few weeks. Awesome :)

For what it's worth, I slightly prefer the cleaner sound of What Burns Never Returns and American Don, but the heavier, uglier sound of DC 2 and the Singles is great as well. Don Cab is currently my favorite band with no close second, so I feel I'm in a good position to suggest that you focus on the four albums I just mentioned. Their first and most recent album are good too, just not great.

I'll have to finish listening to Health tomorrow, but I love it so far. And I'm still loving that OH-IO album you mentioned as well.
