Get off your high horses, would you? Way to turn a normal discussion about new Cave titles emulation into shit.freddiebamboo wrote:Exactly, why bother when a JP PS2 is relatively cheap and allows you to play a shed load of cave and psikyo :?:
Mame has made people expect everything for free it seems...
If you aren't going to believe me until I bother capping the emulator screen, it's your problem. For the record, the build I used was pcsx2svn343, and all plugins were configured for maximum speed.Square King wrote:Screencaps or it didn't happen.

Mushi runs @ 60fps (and more) on any cure2duo...usually you're fine if your pc isn't older than 2 years and is a dual core. But if you're barely smart enough to turn on a ps2 , you wouldn't be able to set up pcsx2 properly. Mushi and ddp doj not only run fast but they are almost perfect 1:1 emulations. I do have a ps2 , but i still emulate them to play them on my LCD (without adding input lag from video converters) and to use my usb controllers.jpj wrote:that can be an advantage. although when i get a game i don't like, i can usually re-sell for a similar value. but playing mushi at 20 frames per second on a pc probably isn't going to give you an accurate idea of whether you'll enjoy it on ps2. or just read the latest write-up of said game on insomnia.aci do think there are a lot of breadcrumb-snatchers on 'tinternet though
if the whole ketsui dump project is anything to go by, investing any time or money into emulating cave boards will probably be a big waste of your time.
Espgaldua though is slow and glitchy on pcsx2 last time i tried it.

There was a play to win in London years back which had DDP2 in the arcade - i used to play it around 1999 (?) a lot, as I actually really enjoyed it.
It's been a long time, and I wasn't as hardcore into shmups as I am now, but I remember it being very enjoyable (and it confusing me big time as to the timeline of the DDP games when I properly started playing them.)
I'll just cover my back by saying it might have actually been shit.

Lol - yep, that could well be: my memory isn't so great after six years, and that's why I popped that question mark after the date.undamned wrote:Came out in 2001Skykid wrote:i used to play it around 1999 (?) a lotGIVE ME YOUR TIME TRAVEL MACHINE

Either way its been a number of years since, A: I played it, and B: it was in Play2Win (which is now a gambling arcade.)
Any Londoner's might remember it (next to MASH on oxford street), it was shoved in the corner next to 3rd strike.
Honestly, it was enjoyable. It played v.similarly to a Cave game but it was much easier (with, if I remember correctly, even larger bullets with tiny hit areas and v.slow swarms.) I think the ease was what made me go back to it so often - I could go a long way on a credit.
