Whyyy Konami Whyyy!!!!???

Why did you remove free play in the last level of portable Gradius IV !!!!!? Now, I have to grow some steel balls or resign myself from ever finishing the game :?.

It took me around 70 credits to finish the game in the PS2 version and the last level always ate at least 20. DAAAAMMMN YOU KONAMI!!!

Interesting. Gradius IV doesn't have Free Play on PSP. That's the first time I hear it, and I wonder if they did the same for the others as well (well, III-Gaiden)

There is Free Play in PSP Gradius 4 until the last level when you need it the most :x. Dunno about Gaiden and the others though.

Because they hate you.

Yes, you.

Ouch. I've actually never played much GIV, though I've heard it's very much a shmup version of Metal Slug 4; it's 4, it's a collection of previous games, and it's hard as fuck.

Nah, GIV might lack originality but it's well done. You might have seen very similar levels and bosses before, but everything is brand new, unlike in MS4.

If they're throwing me back with checkpoints, Free Play is not too much to ask. Imagine my grievance when I have to go through the whole game just to practice the last level. Even pros credit-feed in the arcades just to get farther and get the hang of the later levels.

STFU, noob.

Yeah, Gradius IV is my favorite of that collection. Weird, I like Gaiden more on the TV, but I like "IV" more on the PSP. It's very addictive - now I know what to look foreward to when/if I get to the last level, aside from numbed pinky and ring-fingertips.

Same thing with me. I guess it's cause you can turn it off and come back later when the annoyance of dying for the umpteen time goes away.
