Does Ridge Racer 6 have more than 1 track?
I was thinking about snagging this, but you know what i'm talking about. 1-3 and 5...one f**king track! Type 4 was where it was at.
So, what's the deal?

It would be safe to say that the 360 release of Ridge Racer 6 has many tracks to race on since the PS3 version of Ridge Racer 7 is based off of it anyway...
It would be cool to see Namco release another sequel to Rage Racer PSX port...that was some solid racing right there.
It would've been cool if Namco could've pulled off a high-res version of Ridge Racer Type 4 on the PSX. At the very least, they managed to make the original PSX Ridge Racer game to run at 60fps with 640 x 480 resolution as a bonus & techincal demo... ^_~

If I remember correctly, there were no rival cars in the hi res psx bonus.

I agree. Things really start to go downhill once you get to the races with the hovercrafts. They take up way too much room on the track and the CPU has no qualms about using this to its advantage particularly when drifting around tight corners.sjewkestheloon wrote:Hi all long time no speak.
RR6 is a good game but watch for the cheating bastard AI. Quite annoying rubber band.
The only real strategy to win at the higher levels is simply to let the CPU pass you and let it remain slightly ahead, race normally so that the gap between you and CPU is manageable whilst you build up a triple nitrous, and then use the 3x nitrous charge right before the finish line. Simply put...if you use a nitrous charge, then the cpu will as well. Do this too early in the race and the CPU opponent will build up too great a lead and they clearly don't have to ultimate charge to build up their boosts.

Can use Logitech Driving Force steering wheel with RR7!
I'm not even sure if Namco incorporated such NeGcon or even JogCon driver support for use with Ridge Racer 7 since at the time of it's debut, the PS3 still didn't have support for use with PSX/PS2 game controller ports.scrilla4rella wrote:This is a long shot but do you guys know if the NeGcon works for RR7 on PS3?
Ridge Racer 7, however, does have official support for use with the optional Logitech Driving Force/Pro variant type of USB-powered force-feedback steering wheels via PS3 console update file and works like a charm. The same Logitech steering wheel setup works just fine with the PS3 Gran Turismo HD d/l as well... ^_~
The very last Ridge Racer game to have official support of the NeGcon and JogCon controller setups is Ridge Racer V for the PS2 console...
