Internet "mixtapes" (shmups theme?)

Post by szycag »

http://muxtape.com

Very open-ended and vague site centered around making mixes to share with the internet. I've always loved making mix CDs for people but these have the potential to reach the world and all that. It's weird that you can't type descriptions or search them or anything. The extent of it is "Hey I made one the username is _____" Odd concept but I took the opportunity to make a shmups mix.

http://shmups.muxtape.com

Hope I got the balance right, about half of it is Cave stuff (the max limit of 12 songs) but I tried to switch it up.

also check out my mix I made for myself if you like http://szycag.muxtape.com

I WANNA SEE WHAT YOU GUYS CAN MAKE
Rob make me one plz <3

I made one. I picked a lot of the prog-rock tracks that Motoi Sakaraba is known for in his video game music compositions. I also picked a couple arranges off the Star Ocean Fantasy Megamix cds... most of the songs featuring electric guitars. Put a few of the good somber / relaxing songs he does in there just for breathers between the rock songs. He's my favorite video game music composer next to Mr. Uematsu. And some of these tracks are just too good to let pass by. Plus, prog rock is pretty cool, and wild solos.

Yeah, Motoi Sakaraba composes music for many of the Tales Of games, Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile series and other Tri-Ace games.

Maybe I will. Limit is 12 songs, right? I've been meaning to check out this site, but it is overwhelming. I'll start with the shmups one.

I made a game music mix tape, with music from such hit games as:

01. I don't know what game this is from but it is creepy and super cool!!!
02. Bluelight Magic
03. Moon
04. Tamashii no Mon
05. Takeda Shingen
06. Fujiyama Buster
07. L.O.L - Lack of Love
08. Fang of Alnam
09. Die Katze von Schrodinger

Some of it is cheezy, some of it is really freaking good, most of it is obscure and weird! Listen to it now: http://zinger.muxtape.com/

I don't know if you saw my post in the favorite album thread, the album it's from is totally free. Disasterpeace's Level is also an excellent album (albeit costing money).

It's a mixtape in the High Fidelity sense and not the "92' Happy Hardcore Hitzz" sense

I've been denied uploading a song twice. It's an mp3 under 10mb, wtf. My mux will feel incomplete.

My biggest issue is that you can only upload mp3s - I've got a treasure trove of nintendo wavs I recorded myself for mix cd purposes.

Wish I knew, too.

The artists listed worked on 3D Hot Rally (Famicom Grand Prix II), so I'm gonna guess it's a Famicom-era game remix...

I uploaded a song twice that successfully uploaded but wouldn't play on the site...

If you have Wavelab or something easy maybe you could try re-encoding it, I don't know.

for fun I made one of just little odds and ends music I've made, and especially with some of the older stuff I had to re-encode it to get it to upload. I think it's really picky about the headers and ID3 tags and stuff. The old fruityloops I don't think even attached any header at all.

Yeah the album is from '88, it's either from Eggerland, Gullforce, Air Force, Mr. Jumbo Ozaki,, Hole in one Professional or Fire Bam. The original is probably not as interesting though so it doesn't really matter (this is an arranged version).

Light Command and XOX were the only tracks I didn't love, and those I hated.

You've got some hard-hitting tracks in there, man.

Funny, those are the two older favorites I picked. The rest are from the last few months.

That's odd. I kept the tape running during Twin Cobra / Kyukyoku Tiger, and it turns out I don't dislike them at all.

Yeah, I often second-guess myself, and good thing too.
