Videoing Shmups

Post by NAVVARR »

Whats the best way to go about videoing your shmups for uploading to the likes of YouTube?

Obviously I could just sit the old video camera next to the tv and tape it and then copy the file to my PC for uploading.
If i was going to do it tho, i'd want to do it a bit more professionally.

I have every console known to man and basically have them connected through a series of scart block to my TV (Sony Bravia 26inch) -so i'd be looking for something to take a scart input, record it and then output it to my TV, so i can see what i'm doing.

Any suggestions?!

(Moved to Hardware)

Your setup sounds similar to mine, so I'll take the liberty of plugging my own site where I've detailed how I do my captures.

I'm sure Zakk will be along shortly to talk about some $200 piece of equipment.

I saw this neat little contraption at Best Buy the other day. It basically splits the video signal to the TV and an external HD, from which it can be transferred to PC. Thought about picking one up, but didn't have a spare $99 in my pocket.
