HORI Fighting Stick EX2 Xbox 360?

Post by captain ahar »

will this work with the XP drivers that allow you to use a 360 controller for Windows applications (like MAME)?

thank you.

It's an awesome stick. I have it and I love it. On the Shoryuken forums there's a link to a custom made driver that helps sort out some of the problems you might have with the stick. I don't have the link to the driver, but it worked just fine for me without it anyway. Don't get really drunk and then spill Mountain Dew all over it. That shit is really hard to clean out. :(

Bought one a week ago, returned it yesterday. Nothing wrong with it, just that I bought it for the 360 and there's really nothing on there right now that needs it. Once DOJ and Ketsui come out I'll probably have to buy it again.

...too bad, was cheap too...$40.

i just picked one up. $40 of course, i figure i'll see how it goes, and if i don't like it, i'll buy an HRAP3, and run the damn HORI over with my car... or maybe sell it off... :P

of course there are the many shooters coming out soon on 360...

I couldn't figure out how to get it to work with mame either. I downloaded GameEx (a frontend for mame and a bunch of other stuff) and it automatically detects my stick that way. It takes forever to get GameEx set-up, but I think it's worth it.

Joy2Key also works wonders.

Allows auto-fire even.

i didn't have any particular problems getting it up in mame. i did upgrade to a newer version WolfMAME, but beyond that and setting up the .bat, it was pretty painless.

per chance, anyone know the command line option to modify the "dead zone" on the stick?

I'm interested in getting one of these for my shmups on the 360, with Ikaruga being so close to release and all.

Is it a good stick for shmups, and all things XBLA?

I just looked at Vista's "game controllers" Control Panel and didn't see anything. Some programs will let you set this manually (Project 64's regular controller plugin does, for example).

Why would the stick have a dead zone? It's not analog.

anyway, i'm kind of stupid when it comes to joysticks (as this is my first).

in any case, i am not even messing around with command line MAME anymore. the framerates i was getting were still too terrible to play anything comfortably. i just use my trusty MAME32+ v.104, using Joy2Key to allow play with the stick.

works like a charm.

and in case anyone was wondering about the deadzone option in Mame32 command line, it is:

-a2d_deadzone / -a2d <float>

inputing your own parameter of course. :)
