Weird Food Combos You Have Tried

Post by UnscathedFlyingObject »

Today, I was hungry and there was nothing but a half can of clam chowder soup and various dried foods. I heated the soup and threw a quarter cup of sunflower seeds. It doesn't taste half bad.

Last month I had a gigantic box of Cheerios that I had to get rid of. I basically used it as a substitute for rice or pasta, so for a whole week I had Cheerios with curry beef, stir fried with ground beef and veggies, with chicken wings etc...

Actually, there's a pretty good drink called "Morir Soñando" (die dreaming.) It's made of orange juice, evaporated milk, sugar and crushed ice.

Someone chucked a Mars bar in my pasta the other night. It wasn't particularly vile.

When I was a kid I thought milk and Dr. Pepper would taste really good together. It doesn't :(

Beer and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Actually not bad depending on the beer. I had a Brooklyn Black Chocolate stout.

Peanut butter and just about anything. I spent the night at my boy Andy Sailor's house when I was eight and his dad was putting peanut butter on a spam sandwich. So I tried it and it rocked. I then went back home and tried it on anything sandwich related that contained meat (and some that didn't). Here's a short list:

Hot dogs
Hamburgers
Roast Beef
Ham
Chicken
Turkey
Bacon (got my dad into this one and we'd eat 'em every Saturday morning)

I also used to make PB and cucumber sandwiches all the time. And for awhile I'd cook up a pot of spaghetti, put the sauce on it and store it in the fridge for peanut butter and spaghetti sandwiches. Which are really fucking good.

And nowadays I will every single day of the week scramble up smoked salmon, powdered garlic, minced onion, one egg and put that in a whole wheat tortilla with peanut butter. Or almond butter if I'm feeling wealthy. Gotta get that protein.

Sounds delicious.
Is peanut-sauce something more tasty than this odd peanutbutter?

Raw avocado with balsamic vinegar and olive oil, along with some pepper.

Surprisingly good.

This probably doesn't count (not actually a food combo, and it's probably normal somewhere) but I used to regularly eat salt on pineapple. It tastes a lot better than it sounds.

Orange juice and vanilla ice cream with salami on top, as a hangover cure. It was actually quite tasty.
