Commando 3: Wolf of the Battlefield (XBL/PSN)

Seems that there is a new walking shooter coming to XBL and PSN. Looks a bit like Red Star to me.

Is it just me, or did Penny Fucking Arcade draw the character artwork?

To hell with that, needs the realistic style of the older games (like Mercs). This looks even worse than that 3D Metal Slug game :(

+ 999 (LEVEL MAX)

Akiman, Nishimura, CRMK, Ikeno, and Shinkiro were all busy and Gennedy Tartakovsky just happened to walk by the office.

If the name of the game was "Samurai Jack" then this all might make sense, but it's not.

I like how Super Joe Gibson's hand is clenched around nothing. This is called "rigor flexortis" and occurs when you flex too hard for no damn reason

Perhaps this was all the result of a clerical error styled after a sitcom premise that's too late and too funny to fix. I bet Shoei is wondering why he was sent to the United States to design characters for Billy & Mandy right about now.

Actually, I wouldn't mind a shooting game filled with John K.'s bug-eyed Kirk Douglases. Not Senjou no Ookami though.

Ya know, I can't help but think Expendable would have been decent if not for the controls.

Step 1. Take classic game series, make rehashed, poorly designed/modeled 3d "sequel" for PSN/XBLA.
Step 2. ???
Step 3. Profit!

This looks just as promising as that 1942 remake .. :/

It looks just like Assault Heroes but with crappy people instead of your tank thing, and just generally worse.

Fail. Leave american art for american-made games (Earthworm Jim or Smash TV for example).

Whoever mentioned Tartakovsky previously, Agreed. I thought the guy looked like Johnny Bravo for a sec.

Fail.

Bravo would be an upgrade from these skinny Rambo posers.

This Cartoon Network wannabe character art is so wrong for Commando 3. American art wouldn't be so bad if they had studied the artwork of Mercs and decided to follow up from there.

I'd like them to pull a House of the Dead 3 and rework the graphics for a more gritty look. Sega's original Scooby Doo styled HotD3 drew so much flack that they shelved it and redid the art. Give Shinkiro a call, Capcom.

You can bet there'd be global howls of protest if Street Fighter IV had gotten this treatment.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

I'm not usually the one to call for boycotts but this is a fucking disgrace. Even if it plays well. So let's not accept this. Nobody buy the game, so they'll have to think again if this graphic style is suitable for the Senjou no ookami series. Thanks.

Seriously, guys? I'll play the demo and see how it is. The artwork is secondary, at best.

Then again, I was never a huge fan of Commando to begin with.

Indeed. Though its still insanely hard.

I always thought it was neat that there was a FPS mode in it. Though it was outright impossible. Still cool that they did that though.

You know, those character designs were what I was thinking was going to happen when Contra 4 got announced with an American team.

Fortuanately, they didn't do this to that game...
