This thread is to keep track of the list of games to which you've posted a high score, before you inevitably forget. A semi-accurate list can be started by using Search for Author: with your nickname and selecting Forum: Hi Scores. HS thread links aren't needed, but i added them for my own use to speed up submitting my new scores.

To link your specific post elsewhere, it should look like this:
http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.ph ... 738#329738
The number at the end can be found by hovering over the quote/edit buttons of your post. Alternately you can get the link from your address bar after saving edits - the forum auto-loads the direct link to your post.

You can also click on that little icon near "Posted: Wed Apr 30..." ;]

Now this is more productive than 1CC lists. To hell 1CC, hail to high scores !

High Scores List

My opinion on getting good at shmups : The Full Extent of the Jam

A list of my best scores only, on which I have done real work by studying the game enough to know a precise scoring plan at all points throughout, and then performed well enough to follow that plan with few mistakes in one run. All of the listed scores have been achieved playing with a keyboard, which is my favorite controller. I want to prove that it's perfect for playing STGs too, and definitely not a handicap at all.

DoDonPachi

Type A-L • 547,501,230 • 2-ALL • 854 Max Hit

Achieved through years of practicing. I started playing this game in 2003, beginner at the genre, and reached this score in November 2010. I owe K.O.'s A-L video big time, since I extensively used it to learn scoring routes. Whoever you are, thank you ! It was very hard getting there, but it was worth it. Total playtime clocked approximately 700 hours.
In this run, I started feeling very nervous in the middle of stage 2-5, and died stupidly at the boss' bomb attack. I then managed to reassemble and perform well in 2-6, despite complicated situations due to lowered firepower in the beginning, and a small timing mistake later. Lots of tension, risk management and reversals made for an intense run.

DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou
Black Label

Type A-E • 2,519,678,800 • 2-ALL • 3585 Max Hit

As I expected, the skills I had previously acquired allowed me to progress very fast with this game, learning a nearly optimized first loop in less than 100 hours of play and managing to pull it off with no major mistake in a run. 150 hours of practicing later, I travelled to Japan and played in gamecenters in Tokyo and Kyoto for my first 2-ALLs on arcade cabinets. A little under a year later, having participated in a few live events demoing shmups, meeting Clover-TAC, NAK and Kamui at Stunfest, I got motivated to play a new series of attempts and managed this 2.5B score which is very close to ISO's score from the superplay DVD. Current total playtime is approximately 300 hours.
This game is a lot of fun and has become my favorite. The balance is excellent, it is very hard and well designed. The stages are quite epic, and the end of the game very stressful.

Guwange

Kosame • 4980万4980 • ALL • 47,079 Max Coins

This was my score submission for the Arcade Extreme Guwange tournament in 2007, which ranked me #1 in the tournament, earned me 120€, and set the new occidental record ! I played a total of 100 hours within the two months that we were given to practice and reach as high as we could. I managed a full chain of all levels with limited milking of the cat-spider boss, very few mistakes, and an unusually nice ending against the last pattern of the last boss. This isn't one of the harder Cave games, but it is beautiful, original and very enjoyable.

But alas I don't have high-scores in any of this

Most of it currently up. Replays available. Lots of stuff I haven't added to it yet.
Also developing a personal replay database to collect the links to every video I've uploaded to the internet, for easy access.

It's weird that you can't find them in the highscore section. Maybe you should open one at least for GTA San Andreas, I'd also like to contribute my scores for that game.
