So what does that have to do with you guys?
increase 'shackspace' for subscribing members to 1 gigabyte

For those that don't know, "Mercury" Members (people that pay ~$60 a year to get rid of ads, get instant access to Fileshack, get a little lightning bolt by their name) have gotten about 30 megs of webspace ("Shackspace") for about the last 2 years. The beauty of it was that this "Shackspace" had unlimited bandwidth...just toss up a Counter Strike demo, maybe a small mod or something and you don't have to worry about pesky shit like bandwidth costs.

Well now with Shacknews moving to Limelight, we (Mercury Members) are getting 1 gig of space with pretty much unlimited bandwidth. Fuck. Yes.

Can't wait until everything is finalized. I'll start tossing up shmup videos free for the hotlinking. :D

I wonder if it'll last (the unlimited bandwith part). There'll probably be a lot more transfer with 1gb space than 30mb (especially now that you can host 50/100+mb files), but if it works out, 5/month for 1gb space and unlimited transfer is pretty damn hot.
