Best Shmup for the Wii VC?

I've been holding out on VC purchases for a while, but with Lords of Thunder hitting the VC recently, I picked that up along with Gate of Thunder.

My Wii's been sitting dormant since the awesomeness of Super Mario Galaxy, but these two games have been consuming just about all of my gaming time. Two great games that I pretty much missed out on because I never had a TGCD/TD... although I don't have a GC stick, my Hori GBA pad is working out quite nicely for these two titles.

Although these are my only purchases, I have to say that Hudson Soft's VC support has been stellar.

Is Super Air Zonk any good? I played the hell out of most regular TG16/PCE games, but it's the CD-based shooters I'm really interested in. Thanks.
