Have you spotted any arcade machines with a shmup in them lately? (Might as well ask if you have spotted any machines at all)
And just to make this thread a little more informative - here's a picture of the kind of generic machines we used to have back in the mid to late eighties:
These machines where usually stationed outside a gas station or something similar. Since they where of Swedish make, I guess many of the Swedes here have fond memories of these machines too.

Not any shmups in public, there are some arcade games at the local cinema. Star Wars Trilogy + a few racers.
The Kenny cabinet is not Swedish. It was made in Italy by Aleph, but the Swedish importer bought so many he got his name on it "Kenny" is a part of adonbolagen.
And this type of cabinet was my first ever cabinet
theres a gamestore in oslo with two naomi cabs in the back.. they had virtua fighter 4 and something else last time i was there. no shmups tho but maybe they have some if you ask..
the destruction of everything, is the beginning of something new. your whole world is on fire, and soon, you'll be too..

Which gamestore is this? I'm currently living in Oslo, so I will definitely stop by some time. Just playing a game on an arcade cabinet will be a boon, shmup or not. I don't think I have actually done that since 94.

It's not pretty, but it brought arcade games to the masses, since it was usually seen standing/wall mounted at a gas station. Many people, who would never have visited the typical seedy places where arcade games could be played, was exposed to arcade games this way.
