Permanent desktop tate?

Post by black mariah »

I'm looking for a way to rotate the entire desktop on my computer so I can leave my monitor on its side. NVrotate will do that, but it doesn't work correctly. All it does is flip the desktop on its side and stretch it out. The added processor overhead also makes MAME very jittery. Is there a better way to do this, or am I basically doomed to flip my monitor around any time I want to play?

NVRotate is going to be the way to go. The stretching you see applies only to the wallpaper (you might need to find new wallpaper to fix that,) everything else should be sized appropriate for a 768x1024 (or whatever your resolution is) desktop. As for MAME, start games using the -rol option (or -ror if that turns out upside down,) and they'll be displayed properly in the vertical resolution.

if you have an ATI card, you can tell it to do this no problem. Under some options menu, it's in the control panel I think.
