Top 5 VECTREX shmups.

The VECTREX was one of the first consoles I bought..
Still own it with 17 games in mint condition!
After more than 20 years! old it still offers some great gameplay!

Here is my top 5 shmups.

Vectrex is awesome! The vertically oritented screen would have made for a great shooter setup... but unfortuantely there were not many shmups made for the system. Even great games like FORTRESS OF NARZOD are only pseudo-shooters in my book. Scramble was OK but it was wierd to have a horizontal shooter stretched and cropped to fit the screen resolution. I would say WEBWARP is probably my favoriate and even that's more tempest-like.

By the way, the folks that own the rights to the Vectrex games have put them into the public domain for non-profit use (which is an extremely kind gesture). So emulation of all these is perfectly fine. MESS, in particuar, works quite well for Vectrex.
