Cave Fest 12/30/2007

Post by EOJ »

Yep, another Cave fest is coming your way on December 30th at Hey arcade (5th floor):

http://cave-gameshow.cocolog-nifty.com/fes200712/

They'll be selling an assortment of goods including the new MMP soundtrack/DVD set, a Deathsmiles Calendar, and the Esprade/Guwange soundtrack. Expect lots of cabs filled with rare versions of Cave games as well.

You heard it here first! 8)

(Too bad I won't be able to attend :( )

Awesome! (Because I might be there, instead of not being there like the previous times and feeling jealous.)

It all depends on whether I get my passport replaced in time.

Can't wait to play Mushi Futari 1.76, which will be way better than whatever version EOJ is playing.

I'll be playing Futari Black Label, which is likely the version of Futari they'll have there, since it is released just 10 days prior.

Curiously though, there is no mention of Futari Black Label on Cave's page for this festival (they do mention Deathsmiles will be playable). Strange they are still mum on this game when the location test begins in a day.

I wouldn't be surprised if Junya Inoue is there to autograph shit, like Ikeda last time. This seems like a festival centered around him (Deathsmiles, Esprade/Guwange soundtrack, and he even did the cover for the MMP soundtrack).

EDIT: They say on the page the developers of Deathsmiles will be there, which will likely include Inoue.

Shit for sale:

-Death Smiles 2008 Calendar
-Lots of "new goods"

The usual Straps, Posters, and CDs

Talk Show:
Inoue Junya, Ikeda, .... what about the other dude? Looks like it's just them.
Talk show runs from 18:00

Clicking on the "game" link just shows you the run down. Wonder if they'll have a special version of Death Smiles. Need to find some rare Inoue thing I've got in case they do autographs. Problem is, last time Mihara orchestrated that whole thing. No way IKD was going to do it if he wasn't put on the spot.

Fuck... gotta make sure I'm flying out on the 31st and not the 30th. O_O

I love calendars more than posters because you don't have to put holes in them!

Yeah, calendars are much better. I'd actually collect those instead of selling them off (posters are completely useless to me).

why dont you just hang em? (ok so some of them might not suit an adults walls  ).

ive got one of my DDP DOJ BL flyers framed at my office, people usually stop and stare at it for a few mins before they ask what it is

getting kinda tired of all the merch Cave are putting out to be honest, so far ive tried collecting it all but its getting pretty hard, and to be honest most of the Deathsmiles merch is pretty shite (beads, alarmclocks, etc etc).

Yeah, not possible for me. I live with my girlfriend, and there's no way she'd put up with that, but honestly, I'm not too keen on having a bunch of posters on the walls myself. Plus it would be embarrassing when company comes over. Having game posters on the walls makes you look too much like a geeky teen.

Anyway, I do like collecting the promo fliers, which are much smaller and can be put in a binder for easy perusal, also easily stashed away when company arrives. :)

Yeah, I just don't like them as much because I don't want to pierce them and it's a pain to get them framed. Otherwise I'd be all over some Muchi Muchi Pork posters

Sad but true.

Hence I always end up selling the posters as well, as nice as some of them are.

So true. Actually, my video game shelf alone gets laughed at by friends when they come over. "Why are they all in Japanese again?"

EDIT: Also, trying to explain why you have a TV turned on it's side to the bemused in-laws is no fun.

Insanely stupid question, but i'm guessing the majority of all the 'cool stuff' on sale at this Cave fest won't end up on Play Asia any time soon (with the possible exception of the MMP CD/DVD set)?

Same here. Fuck everyone else: if you want this shit on your walls then stick it there and be proud of it.

Yeah it was Undamned's, but he had a friend in the framing biz do it on the cheap, otherwise would have been $175-$275.

Dam.

I really wish I liked Cave shmups. It seems they are one of the few companies still supporting the genre these days.

I'm sure it'll be a proper release (not "fest only") and cd set.
