I had, played, and sold my RFJ kit that was the original cart ver. w/ everything but the POP. Just didn't play it enough to justify that much money wrapped up in a kit that I don't fully appreciate.

The general consensus I've gathered is that RF2 is the top of the series (i.e. better than 1, and Jet is just different than the first two, not necessarily better), so I had to get it to see for meself :D I haven't even had a chance to play it, as I've been sortting a bunch of games and getting them ready to put up on ebay.

For Icarus,

Is that mini monitor shown in that particular Pink Sweet YAJ auction a hacked Sony PSone RGB monitor?

I do recall that the Sony PSone RGB monitor's the only one that can accept the arcade low-res RGB signal of 15.7 kHz horizontal sync rate...interesting method of display such low-res graphics on it if that's indeed the case here... ^_~

Dunno. Maybe? Looks pretty cool whatever it is.

@Dave_K.
Thanks. ^_^
Should be taking delivery of it by end of next week, but won't be sitting down with it until after STGT. Quite excited though, can't wait to plug it in and start finding out what makes it tick, especially since it seems to have a lot of Batrider-ish mystery with regards to scoring.
Muchi Muchi Pork is now at the top of my want list, but I'm patient enough to wait until next year for it. Especially seeing as I now have something fun to spend the rest of the year playing. ^_-

No, it's not a PSone screen. PSone screen has a round PCB that would be bigger than that clear case. And as far as the PSone screen being the only one to handle native low rez RGB, that is false. The Pelican Game Glass is another off-the-shelf screen that can do low rez (w/ a minor mod). I've seen similar screens to the one in the photo from JP gambling machines that have animations running while you are playing. You can get them off YAJ on the cheap sometimes (500JPY).

Nice to hear you nabbed that one at a decent price, Icarus. I'm sure you'll enjoy the game.

Just got my 1st cave kit today thanks to battlesmurf!!

ESPgaluda 2 kit... awsome game, so happy to have finally got one. Next up are mushi and ibara.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Got Gunbird a few of weeks ago and had Soul Edge delivered the other day. I'm really surprised at how good Soul Edge still is, I mean, it's aged and all but is still looks fairly ok and is perfectly playable, unlike some other early 3d fighters.

A used one with a beat up box, no pop, and some art just sold for 120,000yen on YJ:

http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w13472524

It did come with the poster though. This sold for more than the last one a month or two ago, and that one had full art and was in better condition.

Your best bet would be to get one from Fujita, while they can still order them from Cave. They have brand new kits for 145,000yen.

I know, I was watching this one.

I would, but then I'd be living on ramen for the next few weeks. :d
I'd sell kidneys, but no one would want my battered, 90%-proof kidneys anyway. ^_-

Yeah I picked up an Egret II from Matsu. Originally planning to pick up an Astro city, but it wouldn't fit in the SUV I rented, no matter how we tried. So I picked up an Egret II instead since you can take the control panel off.

No photo as I'm excessively lazy (see DM topic for a photo of Superpangs), but: yay Deathsmiles!

Just won an auction for a Boogie Wings/Great Ragtime Show PCB. The auction closed at just over $100.00. Not to shabby. :)

MUTANT FIGHTER!!

oh wait.. thats just my p.o.s PCB i use for testing out NEW CABS :D well, what with Deathsmiles being horisontal i felt i needed a cab with that orientation.
as always shes a little dirty but the most important thing is the screen is incredibly crisp, there isnt a hint of burn-in or fading colours, awesome!

some new seimitsu controls and a good wash later this will be a real beauty.

Hyper Athlete (Konami's last sequel to Track & Field, circa 1996)
Gun Smoke
Cloak & Dagger (dedicated cabinet)
Time Pilot dedicated (mini cabinet)
