I'd have thought that someone who pretends to care so much about his alleged ethnicity couldn't possibly have any difficulty figuring this out.

Actually, I believe the slur for Japanese people that would be on the same level as the three slurs you listed isn't "Jap". Scroll down to the "N" section.

Anyway, with Capcom digging up Street Fighter again, perhaps it'll put them in the mood to finish up the storyline they were doing in the Darkstalkers series, and give us a fourth game there too.

Yes, there are many nuanced levels of ethnic slur, because you need to take their feelings into consideration.

Also, SF4.

Nah. The slur discussion parts will probably go here.

So... should we start a pool on how massive Chun-Li's thighs will be if she's in this game?

Parrying can stay, and there should be FOUR Super Arts per character. Hopefully Capcom will keep some more existing characters beside Ryu & Ken. Originally SF III didn't even have R&K, and that preliminary version tanked. Things got better when Capcom brought the two back.

With R&K being a given, Capcom should have three other characters from SFII-SFIII join them.

I'll accept 3D graphics if the end product ends up similar to Battle Fantasia- 2D gameplay with that certain style of graphics.

Arika wouldn't be a bad choice of developer, as long as they don't make it Street Fighter EX 4. Keep that tag battle thing out of here. I'd accept Arc System Works if someone from Capcom keeps a firm hand on the project and makes sure they don't go trying to add crazy un-SF features to it (i.e. Air dashing).
Kinect? KIN NOT.

:? People never appreciate the original anymore. They should finally bring back Geki. The only other old characters needed are Chun-Li, Alex and Gouki.

I hope you don't mean "create-a-character." Cause I will then barf.
I agree with custom soundtracks, tho. Then I can use the soundtrack from Third Strike :D

they should get the basic game going first and then they can tit about with the home version as much as they want!

Finally, after all these years, a fighting game that might actually be worth checking for.

As happy as I am, I already bracing for dissappointing details getting released like:
-Not made in Japan
-It will be 3D

Well, those are the only things that can go wrong. I know now already that people will favor third strike over this new installment, when it arrives.
Those guys have already copied this line: "sf3 TS is better". Now they are trigger happily waiting to paste it. Anyway, I will follow this in anticipation.
Everyone's so happy and grateful. If it will not be made by a Japanese company it will suck. I had no idea about j@ps being offensive.
Or maybe it will be 3D, but done right!
They might make it look like the anime perhaps with some little cell shading thrown in the mix @ 1080p. It just might work!

Naw, more like heavy character tweaking. Alpha 3 World Tour mode customizing mixed with CvSNK 2 Groove Editing.
Lordstar wrote: they should get the basic game going first and then they can tit about with the home version as much as they want!
Knowing them it'll take 3 full-priced revisions to get the basic game going.

Also, I daydreamed a lot today. I remember old wishes from the late 90s:

-custom soundtracks
-lag-free online
-authentic widescreen battlegrounds
-720p & 1080p
-fully customizable, exportable/importable characters (to take to friend's house)
-all-character balance
-deeper interactive environment (throw-through walls, barrels, crates, no invisible walls, hyperextended locations, etc.)
-dramatic music changes near fight conclusion like old SF & KI
-old SF2 bloody defeated-character portraits ([realistically] light blood traces during fight)
-visible dynamic character damage during fights (torn clothes, cuts, scratches, bloody nose, etc.)
-refine & expand Alpha's World Tour mode and add CvSNK groove editing to customizations.
-Some motherfuckin' third-party better come out with a damn good arcade stick.

They got a year to listen...

Sure, gameplay is always first but I wonder where it's going to fit in the story. I'd be surprised if story won't be a major part of this game considering how much Capcom has worked with Udon recently.

Well maybe it's for those times you are only feeling a little bit racist? On a serious note, casual racism is bad folks. If you say jungle bunny or anchor baby, you are still being racist.

Welcome the to the genre. This applies to every fighting series these days, Street Fighter was just the first one there.

And that's primarily the reason why I stopped caring about vs fighting games long ago, moreso with Capcom games. Keeping up with every single revision for the sake of staying competitive got annoying after a long while.

SF4 looks interesting, but I'll wait until I get some hands-on opinions from my friends who are into vs games before I invest time with it.

I don't know what to say I want with this new game. If you had asked me how I wanted Capcom to make SFIII, I'm sure it wouldn't have sounded anything like the game that came out. But now that it has, it's my favorite vs. fighter. So... I don't know. I guess all I can do is wait and see.
If I could choose, though, it would probably just be SFIII with new backgrounds and music 8)

I'd rather have a more balanced game than not, I guess. Or new features. It just never really bothered me (except for the animation consistency on some characters.)

I'll come forward to say that all those revisions were awesome. non fighting fans were just jealous that their genre didn't have this amount of updates, there. I am eagerly awaiting: Street Fighter IV -SB Second Bout.
I also liked the video, but boy why did they make ryu and ken look so gay? These guys are not ryu and ken. No, I don't believe it.
Like Mr. Horse (ren stimpy) once said: "No sir, I don't like it".
Si it will be an American effort?

Unfortunately, the shiny CG video for SFIV doesn't tell us much other then it has Ryu and Ken in it.

My damn opinion: If it's not 2D, I'm not interested. Seriously. There never has been a really good 3D Street Fighter game made (not that Capcom developed them, but I digress).

American developed: has me worried. I can't think of a decent American developed fighting game in the last ten years (this includes anything Mortal Kombat). I'm hoping that Capcom Japan has their mitts in this.

Game System: It will be new, that much is sure. It will play completely different then previous Street Fighters. Every new main SF game (SFI, II and III, not revisions) has changed the game system from the previous one, so I don't expect anything different with IV.

Lastly, I do like UDON's designs, but with Street Fighter it's Akiman or nothing. I can't be alone in this.

I remember (don't quote me on it) hearing something like: "blah blah, Capcom US having the rights to the Street Fighter franchise". I hope I am wrong and that it's something else. But who the hell has announced this news?
http://static.capcom.com/streetfighter/ ... railer.flv
That doesn't seem Japanese, nor does the trailer look Japanese and those mugs of Ken and Ryu remind me of every bad cover in this entore thread: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?t=16833
In other words: gay.
Wouldn't it be fun if the guy who 'drew' Ken and Ryu's faces in that trailer was someone who made some of these covers in mentioned thread?
So it is a US effort and Capcom Japan will not have anything to do with it? So it will not be an arcade game and it will be 3D and it will .....
Somebody prove me wrong, please.
