Senko no Ronde (US Ver - 360) Price drop! Now $29.99
Senko no Ronde (US Ver - 360) Price drop! Now $29.99
Senko no Ronde just took a price cut... I picked it up for $29.99 new from Amazon last week. Also can be found at your local EBGames / Gamestop for the same price new, or $25 used.
So if you thought the $60 price tag was too high (like me), now's your chance to pick it up for a decent price!

Two days ago, Wartech/Senko No Ronde for $59.99 @ Best Buy
Thanks for the price drop tip...(runs off to the local Gamestop store and buys a minty fresh copy of WarTech). ^_~
I was seriously thinking about plopping sixty smackers for a copy at my local Best Buy and passed it up -- glad that I waited a couple of days later to learn of this new price drop...thanks again, Aleanil. ^_~
And are there any more new XBox 360 shmup titles to be looking forward to?

None that I know of besides the persistent "Ikaruga on XBLA!" rumor that's been going on for months, and the strong suspicion that Treasure is developing a new shmup for 360 (not confirmed so far as I know). Oh, and Squeenix's Project Silpheed if you count it (I don't). That's about all I know of.PC Engine Fan X! wrote: And are there any more new XBox 360 shmup titles to be looking forward to?

Game's down to $9.99 for the week at Gamestop.
If you haven't picked it up yet, now's the chance to do it.

I don't even own a 360 anymore, but that's a price which is almost too good to pass up.RyanDG wrote:http://www.gamestop.com/gs/weeklyad/cur ... _id=1012nl

Reminds me of the good ol' days when it was possibly to buy those budget-priced A-1 PSX game releases (courtesy of Tommo Games Inc. division) at the same special price as that of Senko No Ronde for the USA XBox 360 this week... ^_~Limbrooke wrote:I don't even own a 360 anymore, but that's a price which is almost too good to pass up.RyanDG wrote:http://www.gamestop.com/gs/weeklyad/cur ... _id=1012nl

And are you a current or former Gamestop/EB employee? I've seen 'em take out new & sealed games out of the "lock & key" glass display cabinet (or even the huge drawers of "reserved" pre-paid games) when I insist on buying one that just came in via UPS, FedEx or DHL Express -- upon closer inspection, it is, indeed, factory sealed and doesn't have any stickers placed on it anywhere. I could be wrong but that's just my observation from the get-go..... ^_~
For the very last remaining copy of said new game -- sure, Gamestop/EB will have the game stashed away in a huge drawer and place it into the last remaining demo game disc case (if it's still available) and sell it to me as is..... ^_~

I have never worked at a game store. (what does that have to do with anything?)
Do you not buy anything that just came in via USPS. (who cares what shipping was used to get the game to the store?)
I'm not sure about from the "get-go", but determining factory sealed and no stickers never really required "closer inspection".
I've been in Gamestops and EBs from coast to coast and they have always been the same. If you, in fact, frequent a Gamestop/EB that keeps sealed games under lock & key, then consider that one hell of an anomaly.

Good looking out RyanDG. Finally picked it up, good thing I didn't get it when I stopped by GameStop yesterday (lol).

Can we change the topic, please, to reflect the new $9.99 price? Oh, and why is this OT, BTW?mannerbot wrote:Rez, Ikaruga, Every Extend Extra, Omega Five, and Trigger Heart Excelica were announced for XBLA at TGS.Aleanil wrote:None that I know of besides the persistent "Ikaruga on XBLA!" rumor that's been going on for months, and the strong suspicion that Treasure is developing a new shmup for 360 (not confirmed so far as I know). I didn't get to respond in the other thread because it got locked, but...
Also at this price you should honestly pick this up even if you don't have a 360, heh.

Agreed, most of the time they open their games unless it's some super popular game that just got released. These assholes open the games and call them new, if it's open it's used dammit!Koa Zo wrote:How are you getting a "minty fresh" copy at GameStop?!?PC Engine Fan X! wrote:Thanks for the price drop tip...(runs off to the local Gamestop store and buys a minty fresh copy of WarTech). ^_~

Re: Two days ago, Wartech/Senko No Ronde for $59.99 @ Best B
I thought it was usually for "last copy" games when they open them, not all games. What sucks more is that, at least at the ones near me, they usually put the game disc in the same bag as the manual before putting the game back in the case. This usually results in minor scratches on the game. Not bad for used, but very annoying for a "new" game.JJG wrote:Agreed, most of the time they open their games unless it's some super popular game that just got released. All the games I am buy from my local Game Stop are in their seal. I have gather quite a few over the years as I am hard up for time to devote to RPG (RPG is a genre I enjoy but have little time for
)
I got quite a few seal games maybe I should check out that seal games place
ROFL LOLZ
I can post pics of my seal games collection from Game Stop upon request
War Tech: Senko no Ronde is a fine game and should not be missed for the price of $9.99 plus tax.

That sticker thing annoys me too, but it annoys me more with used GB or GBA games because they put them on the game carts and it often leaves an annoying residue.JJG wrote:Maybe it is only last copy games but every time I go into a Gamestop it seems like all the games I'm interested in are the ones they only have "last copies" of. They always have the damn sticker on the cases also and it's total bullshit, I'm boycotting them heh.
Alright, I picked this one up today and have so far cleared Story and Score Attack with Karel. Good stuff, methinks. Worth $60? Eh...not to me. I don't care much for 3d fighters, though this one is different enough to set itself apart...and it's closer to VO than Tekken.
It's pretty sparse, actually. The main game is apparently Rev. X, but once you 1cc the game "Original" mode is unlocked. Dunno if you can just credit-feed since I didn't continue. Anyway, all the usual throwaway extras; gallery, character models, even an encyclopedia of sorts.
It really is an intriguing beast. It can easily be compared to a 3d version of Change Air Blade, what with all bullet spam during boss modes and that "Oh Shit!" feeling when an enemy is almost dead and goes into BOSS mode.
Overall, I'm glad I picked it up. Worth $60? Still, not for me. Worth $10? You bet your ass.

PC-FX finally breaks down & buys Wartech for $9.99...
I finally went down to my local Gamestop today, 10/13/07, and plunked down the asking price of $9.99 USD + tax. It turns out that I didn't even need to use the printable $9.99 Wartech coupon as the price tag already lists the special price. I asked the GS associate if they had any new copies left of Wartech and he proceeded to check. He said that he didn't have anymore except for the last remaining copy displayed on the shelf.
So I lucked out on buying the very last remaining new copy of XBox 360 Wartech at the Riverbank, CA, Gamestop location...go figure. ^_~

I bought this for my friend and we played it about 20 minutes or so. Granted neither of us really knew what we were doing but we weren't having a lot of fun. I think he put it best, something to the effect of... yeah I'd love to blast away at stuff like this but playing it head to head feels forced and indirect.
That is Galactic Dancing

I actually went to 3 different gamestops today as I was doing a lot of driving anyway and they happened to be near. The first one I went to the clerk didn't even think the game was out yet, they had a sealed copy and the "new" used copy so I took the sealed. The second one only had a "new" used copy so I passed. The third one had a "new" used copy and told me I'll never find a sealed copy these days, assholes.
I'm going to be writing to Gamestop about this stupid policy of opening games and selling them for the same prices as sealed ones. You wouldn't open anything else and call it new, hmm let me go buy an open bottle of tylenol since it's never been "used."
They really need to go back to the days of Funcoland, it was a much better store.
I simply won't buy games from EB / Gamestop unless they are still sealed. Had too many times in the past buying a 'new' game which they will take out of a plastic bag from under the counter containing the disc and manual. These almost always have fingerprints over them, small scratches, folds to the manual etc. This is obviously something they do when they're down to their last copy or two, and you buy the boxes that were out on display on the shelves.
One GB game I bought from them even had scratches on the cart where it must have been plugged in and played several times. I took it right back after 5 minutes and complained, spoke to the manager, and was told 'it's illegal in California to sell played games as new, so we'd never do that'. 'Then where did these scratches come from, it's clearly been played,' I asked. 'You tell me,' he said accusingly!
I'll only ever buy games from them if they are still sealed now. And they're lucky I still ever even go there, from being treated like that.
Anyways, back on topic - you can see from their website what stores have them in stock. I picked up a sealed copy on Saturday, don't have a 360 yet but will definitely get one at some point. For ten bucks you can't really refuse, no matter what their customer service can be like.
