Guxt - Making of...
So, do you think Pixel adding enemies that come from behind qualifies this as a Euroshmup?
Just kidding. But interesting read nonetheless...

Well, isn't "Guxt" pronounced almost like Gust? It's not a real word anyway so you can pronounce like you want :D It's the English rule right? :Picycalm wrote:lol, i like it how he calls the game Guxt but the japanese characters he uses are pronounced Gust. nihonglish lol
where is this dude from anyway?

I have no idea what you are talking about. I speak four languages and in none of them is Gust pronounced anything like Guxt. I just think the guy must be stupid to do so much work on this game and not bother to ask anyone to proprely transliterate its title to Japanese.Fenrir wrote:Well, isn't "Guxt" pronounced almost like Gust? This was pretty cool, thanks! What I'd really love to see though, is something like this from ZUN. I think it would be really interesting because he already does this sort of thing for the songs in the games, and it works out well.
More importantly, does this mean that if you were to ever review this for your site, you would call it Gust?
Anyway, I love this game. Not for the game itself, which I didn't really care for. No, just for the warm feeling of schadenfreude for the legions of Pixel fans who, after having finished their Favorite Game Ever, eagerly awaited any droplets of news from the fan-translated blog. Years later they finally get a simple-looking shmup instead of a Metroidvania. Then they try to rationalize how great a game this is (but not their cup of tea, they don't play shooters) and try to pretend to themselves and others that they love this game as well.
Then again, I would still be a sucker for another game like Ikachan.
Actually, if I could force any doujin game creator to make a shmup, I'd be really interested to see what kind of game Nifflas would create. I don't know if he plays them or not, but the hardest setting in Knytt Stories is called "lunatic." Hmm.

That's why I asked where this guy was from. It all depends on that.

I doubt he'd have time to bother for a dev blog because he'd be too busy getting drunk, and designing more QUALITY lolis to put in his future games, because he knows that's what makes them sell so well.Enhasa wrote:This was pretty cool, thanks! Anyways, I like Pixel's approach more. Alot less archaic appraoch then someone like, say, ZUN, who loves to punish you for using bombs and such.

Could anyone point out a direct download link? I had the game but lost it and now every link points to a page where I can only download the zipped developer lock (http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA022293/desk.html).
