I'm not lying about playtime. Ive played vp1 for a little over an hour so far. I played it a few times a few years ago when I lived in NY and was never really good at it.Rob wrote:Already? Is he lying about playtime to encourage the lessers.Twiddle wrote:<sikraiken> 5.8M stage 6 D:

Man, I have more free time than anybody on this board garaunteed and I actually sort of enjoyed TBY, and even I couldn't stand putting THAT much time into the game. I probably put in... 20 hours or so tops. It just wasn't a game I could sit down and play over and over and over like I can Cave or Psikyo games.

Hah, I did expect the hardcore shmuppers to play more than 24 hours total, but I'm never going to do that myself in such a short time span unless the game is that awesome. That being said, I think I spent about 4-4.5 hours on TBY in two days, then promptly deleted it.

I think players with kids should have like 20% added to their score. Shit, I clocked 12 hours max on TBY... probably closer to 10. I don't feel quite as bad about my score now. There is simply no way I can put in as many hours as most dedicated players here. Fucking reality.

Yeah, so what if I suck! Three more hours and just over half your score. Ass hole.Rob wrote:I think I got about 17 hours after my last midnight-3am desperation marathon. Not that I would've beat anyone above me aside from shoesama.Arvandor wrote:I probably put in... 20 hours or so tops.
Bastard won't even help me with my hitbox question in Dragon Blaze.

Wow, how can you get that good at a game and not notice the nuances of the hitbox? I know I learned to abuse the swinging rectangle hitbox in Under Defeat (before I realized how boring the game was).
But still, you didn't have to kick my already pathetic shooter's ego in the groin
I just threw in the thing about not helping with the hitbox for effect. Makes the salty broom handle torture more justified and satisfying

Answered in the strategy section, but I think I didn't notice because the tilting is brief and only with a quick switch of direction, which will be away from bullets (so you never should get hit by this movement). The hitbox is also really tiny, so quick little changes don't make much of a difference. Maybe it saves a life here or there?

VP1, played 15 times, dunno how many hours it is, but I bet I put in a half hour each time (at least)
Score... 1.1M, completely obsessed with the first stage (which doesn't matter that much). I should focus on the boss patterns, really...
I have gotten 100% on the first stage a bunch of times, though, and 100% on stage 2 a few times (that's actually much easier, but the boss messes me up)
VP1's first stage is quite crazy, if anybody wants to start a topic about clearing it with 100%, I can give my observations...

It's about the size as the hitbox in Dodonpachi. Perhaps a pixel or two bigger. I'm pretty certain at this point though that it DOES move around when you tilt. I've felt like I "headbutted" a bullet that was well out of range a number of times when trying to move out of the way of a bullet heading straight at me.
