This is the new and current Raiden DX scoreboard. The old scoreboard can be found here.

Please post scores in the following format:

Name - Score - Stage - Player Side - Difficulty Level - Version (PCB/Playstation)

(c) = clear without meeting requirements for next loop

Raiden DX - Arcade/Playstation (arcade difficulty)

Please note that there are significant differences even between Playstation arcade difficulty and the Raiden DX PCB, however for the sake of brevity they will be grouped together for the time being.

All old scores will be assumed to be Playstation scores unless players inform me otherwise.

I noticed the post you made in the old Raiden DX Scoreboard about holding the Start button in the PCB (I taped it, actually) to decrease guts bonus reduction.

Thanks for the tip-off. It helped a lot.

I'm trying!
So I discovered for the 3rd boss, each sniper copter thing will spawn every 7 seconds, so I need to find an effective way to quickly point blank the boss within that 7-second gap.

I don't think you can do that effectively without an autofire circuit.

My record w/o autofire is 5.63 seconds, which means I need to make sure the timer starts right when a chopper spawns.

New update in my little Raiden DX PCB adventure.
My previous score, as you all know, is 3.99M, ending at the Stage 5 boss's final form.

I just got this awesome achievement where I got 3.98M and I uh...died in the beginning of Stage 5. This is without shooting down the 5th Stage gold pyramid. This means actually breaking 4mil should be beyond feasible now. The stupid game just won't let me. :(

hmm, just be sure to destroy all the side turrets quickly (using short bursts of your main red shot and M-missile weapons) before targeting the bosses main weak spot. blue lazer with M-missile is the best way to destroy this boss effectively.

Yes, I do this strategy, but I'm also afraid of using blue, since it's going to be more riskier.

Well not really it isn't. if you use blue with full homing missiles, they will quickly wipe any annoying copters that may zoom into screen.

I wouldn't even consider fighting 3rd boss with anything else than blue laser.

But then using H-missiles will just make things worse for me, since they'll directly aim for the green crystal rather than the turrets.

You'll have plenty of time to wipe the turrets out before the crystal is blown apart. Don't worry.

Novice 1-5 1p solo 1438040

Got to the boss at last. It was burning, maybe just a couple of shots to go, then a spread came and I wasn't ready for it :?

Can someone tell me how many levels novice has and what the stats are on the game over screen?

I think top one is % shot down.

thats why you use short bursts of your firepower by slowly tapping on the buttons instead of holding down. remember the enemy copter style fighters always come away from your direct line of fire ie; if you postion your ship in the bottom middle of the screen, the enemy fighters will fly down and around your firepower to avoid getting destroyed and to fire an attack bullet at the best postional chance possible. their objective is to get as close to your ship as possible before being destroyed by your firepower...they are not as stupid as you may think in the way they try to advance their aggressive attacks on you.

Just noticed something thats confused me.

On the score sheet above you have ARCADE difficulty. What the hell is that? Is that an option?

I just select Novice.

ARCADE difficulty = can be changed in the PS1 port's option menu. It's also the PCB default difficulty.

But guys, I'm fine with the red shot + M-missiles. Maybe I should give this whole blue shot thing a try, since I only use the blue shot for the final boss.

Just before I was about to approach the Final Boss in Novice, I got point-blanked and died. I felt disappointed at first that my score prior to losing my last life is only around 2.7M

Then the end-of-game bonuses show up, and in my mind I was like

You must get near perfect score; 100% secrets and near 100% enemies destroyed; the game will then let you continue.

It's not easy, otherwise I'd be submitting new scores every now and then.

As MJR said, you can loop into Novice mode if you are really good.

Precisely the requirements are:

- 99%+ enemy destruct rate
- 100% secrets
- no bomb
- no miss

If you meet these requirements in Novice mode you can also loop into the final stages of Advanced mode. After that you can simply loop Advanced mode indefinitely without any special requirements.

Note that each time you loop something, the difficulty level will be raised by one!

BTW, great work Koa! :)

Nice job! Is that an arcade or normal difficulty score?

If you're playing on arcade difficulty you should have no problem to breeze past Icarus on normal. :)

Whoops, this is on the PS1's default difficulty.
I wouldn't really bother playing Arcade difficulty though, it deson't have that PCB Start button trick, and probably the guys rate would go down faster on the PS1 port.
Pssstttt. I should have no problem, but I play a lot more recklessly on the PSX port considering I don't have to waste arcade tokens. :3
