Wow that was the most retarded video I've seen in quite a while. Give me my 8 minutes back.

I like how everyone in the video is waaaay too young to have experienced the arcade glory days. Like , when Pac Man was poppin in the arcades, the were just nutjuice. I mean, your balls hadn't even dropped yet when Final Fight was around. and don't get me started on that NEO GEO comment. They haven't made a smiley yet to convey my anger.

Space Harrier, Out Run, and After Burner all have the wrong release year.

Yeah, they were doing really well for the first 2-3 minutes. Towards the end when they said, "the gamers grew up" I just couldn't help but laugh.

People still play arcade games. Who the fuck plays Everquest anymore? These types of games are disposable because people will always migrate to the flavor of the month (WoW now.) Arcade games are timeless, because the object is to be perfect, not to fuck around in a sandbox until the next expansion pack. That's how "short" arcade games can have a disproportionally huge amount of depth. The funniest part was when the one person basically said "what's the point of arcade Final Fight when I can just credit-feed to my heart's content in the SNES version and see the ending?" Maybe the point of the game is more than getting to watch Belgar fly out a window.

Icycalm needs to do a video rebuttal.

You were doing pretty well until this.

The point of arcade games is that they're difficult and expect a certain level of performance out of you if you were to play them with the least amount of money. None of the people in this video appreciate that, which would actually be understandable if it weren't for the creds given to World of fucking Warcraft in the end.

I wish this part was at the beginning, so I could've saved my time.

They should see Ben Shinobi's superplays, and then shut up. Idiots.

3rdEd on Icycalm's rebuttal. (as high and mighty as his article sounds, he's just right.)

If someone was actually decent at video editing, we could probably come up w/ something good. I myself am much less of a tool than anyone in that video.

Just don't tell the girl (I thought it was just a really emo boy before I turned up the sound) where Guitar Hero gets it's inspiration (Bemani arcade games  )

She(he?) would probably answer "Really bitchin' power rock, man! Yeah!" and put up the devil horns for extra irony points.

*edit-I too, vote for an Icycalm rebuttal provided its kept under 10 minutes and he sticks to the main points without repeating himself.

That is perhaps the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. Told by a bunch of complete morons who have obviously never stepped foot in an Arcade.

Some priceless quotes:

Image
"I mean, how can you play a sports game in an Arcade, it's impossible!".

Image
"When you get Final Fight at home, and you can just continue, play til you beat it, it totally sucks any fun, and you realize right away those games SUCK"

Hanging a quilt behind them gives it a polished feel and makes their words more authoritative.

Yeah, I watched it. They all look to be in their mid 20's and missed the early 80's arcade scene I'd imagine.

I grew up playing arcades too but that wasn't until the early 90's. That girl who said the football arcade comment hasn't touched a game in her life.

They'd have to be a few years younger. I'm in my mid-20's and was playing Quartet on a stool in the eighties. These people are just part of the ps-x generation. The same thing happens with all forms of media. However, once enough time passes there is almost nothing but respect held for the classics.

Nosferatu... Frank Sinatra... - old, but even the younger crowd doesn't often show disrespect to them. At some point the games we grew up with and play to this day will be remembered with just as much revere.

Someone should subtitle this in Japanese and then show it to Japanese arcade fans.

wow what morons, I say let them dismiss arcade classics like that. Atleast it means more for us who appreciate/collect them. Have fun playing WoW.
